Description of Department: Facilities Services is responsible for 3.5 million square feet of facilities at a replacement value of over $1 billion. There are 250-300 employees in the Facilities Services Department. The personnel within this department work collaboratively in planning, designing, constructing, maintaining, and operating all facets of the facilities. The administration and accounting of funds for the facilities come from multiple sources. Each funding source has distinct rules, regulations, and procedures governing the location and utilization of the funds.

The Department of Facilities Services at the State University of New York at Oswego invites applications for summer temporary cleaner positions.

Multiple vacancies are available for Summer 2024. Hours and shifts vary based on operational needs.

Salary: $15.95 per hour - In accordance with the CSEA Agreement.

Description of Responsibilities:

  • A reliable person who can perform routine manual labor requiring medium to heavy physical effort, including but not limited to moving room furniture while cleaning student rooms top to bottom, moving furniture for events, cleaning windows, tubs, tiles, toilets, sinks, and urinals; dusting offices, residential and/or classroom furniture and preparing for summer conferences and student arrivals.

  • Must be reliable and able to work well individually and within a team environment.

  • Basic knowledge of various cleaning products and equipment.

  • Must be very adaptable to working under time limits and multiple demands. The frequency and types of tasks may vary by assignment.

    Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years or older

  • Must be physically able to perform medium to heavy physical labor

  • Must be able to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license
