QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: High school diploma or equivalent required Fork lift truck experience required Basic computer skills Mechanical Aptitude (comfortable using tools) Willingness to learn and grow/develop a career with Garlock! Able to come to work daily on time with a great attitude Comfortable doing different days daily including standing, lifting over shoulder height, climbing stairs, lifting up to 50 lbs with equipment device or assistance of 2 people Job Summary: Our mobile talent performs different important tasks: Compounder/ Mixer, Sheeter Operator, THERMa-PUR Operator & Material Coordinator. Assembles specified quantities of compounding raw materials and rubbers to be mixed in compressed sheet mixers. Works from formula cards and uses computerized weighting equipment when weighing out proper proportions Responsible for ordering and replenishing the necessary powders and quantities of powders for all raw materials as required. Follows production controls or management schedules for preparing materials. Physically loads all raw materials and rubbers and/or identification numbers for raw materials as required. Records and enters vendor lot numbers and/ or identification numbers for raw materials as required. Prints batch control tags and attaches to appropriate containers a s required to assure traceability. Generates computer or manual records as requested. Inspects and cleans containers before using. Delivers prepared materials to next operation if required. Operates mixing equipment to produce a dough per specifications. Works from specs to add various materials at proper time. Set debaggers and adds fiber required. Sets automatic solvent delivery motors. Maintains close watch on operation of equipment timers and solvent delivery. Dumps mixture in carts and delivers as required. Loads mixers as required. Operates sheeter to produce compressed sheet. Regulate roll temperature. Review orders for sheet requirements. Shovels dough into sheeter in proper quantity. Adds dough and solvent and makes adjustments as necessary to produce quality sheet. MAXIMUM WEIGHT TO BE LIFTED: 50lbs FREQUENCY PER SHIFT: Over 40% up to and including 70% REPETITIVE MOTION TASKS: Climbing stairs DURATION OF SHIFT: 70% OTHER: respirator use mandatory when performing certain assignments within this job classification WORKING CONDITIONS: Fumes, dust, dirt, carbon black, solvents, gas Union Environment
