Summer Youth Camp Counselors
1 Counselor for a male cabin from June 29 - August 10
2 Counselors for a female cabin from July 21 - August 10
What will you do all summer (in addition to having fun with your campers and fellow team members)? A Counselor is responsible for: Supervising school aged campers. Actively participating in all camp activities (art, science, drama, swimming, sports and more!) Providing a safe and fun learning environment and serving as a positive role model. Camp Regis Applejack is hiring motivated leaders with prior experience supervising children who believe in our mission to build positive relationships and ensure the well-being of others. Supervise a group of campers along with a co-counselor focusing on behavior management, safety, security, and personal/skill development. Work effectively with co-counselors and collaborate on daily responsibilities. Promote and actively participate in all camper activities including but not limited to: art, science, drama, swimming and sports. Assist Activity Specialists/Teachers with camp programs. Complete assigned paperwork. Serve as a positive role model to campers. Commit to the growth and development of youth. Work effectively with others in all levels of the organization in a professional manner. Demonstrate outstanding communication skills; using clear, concise and professional language when interacting with campers, camp families and colleagues. Be responsible, reliable and safe and always have a positive, can-do attitude. Must be patient, caring and creative. Demonstrate excellent judgment; identify problems and work quickly to find solutions. Be a flexible, adaptive and a team player. Prior experience working with children, examples include but are not limited to; teaching, coaching, babysitting, academic/athletic tutoring, camp counselor, youth volunteer, classroom assistant, etc. Previous camp counselor experience preferred. Must be able to pass a background check.
All positions include lodging, meals and a salary.
