Bonadio Group, The Controller in Pittsford, New York

The Bonadio Group currently has a need for a Controller to be responsible for the managing, planning, directing and coordinating of all accounting operational functions. This individual will work with both internal and external customers to manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results.

  • Manage and assume responsibility for all financial accounting functions of the company

  • Own the preparation of internal and external financial reporting

  • Coordinating activity of any auditors

  • Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process

  • Assisting with the budgeting process

  • Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementation of new processes

  • Manage daily functions and activities of the finance team

  • Evaluating accounting and internal control systems

  • Developing and monitoring business performance metrics

  • Assist with the tax and regulatory reporting requirements of entities

  • Assist with hiring, training, and retaining competent accounting staff

  • Participate in the due diligence process related to the confidential acquisition of assets and/or new lines of business

  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience in a controllership role or progressive experience in a high-level accounting function

  • Candidates must possess solid communication, technology, analytical, and management skills

  • Should hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or finance. A master’s degree in business administration or CPA/CMA designations considered a plus

  • Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued

  • Public accounting experience is a plus!

Hours of Operation

  • Our office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

  • Our summer hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. to noon on Friday.

  • The ability to work additional hours during busy season is critical, but the rest of the year, flexibility is key.
