Wegmans Corporate Executive Chef in Pittsford, New York

As the Restaurant Chef at Next Door Restaurant by Wegmans, you will be responsible for leading the culinary vision of the entire restaurant by planning and preparing a menu of flavorful and unique offerings from around the world and using innovative fresh ideas to create an exceptional dining experience for our guests. You will lead by example, managing the kitchen operation and team members, and facilitating a relationship between Front of House service staff and Back of House culinary staff, to ensure the restaurant is operating efficiently, effectively, and profitably.

What will I do?

  • Plan and create unique menu offerings and specials that incorporate seasonality and the freshest ingredients available

  • Execute private parties and special event dinners

  • Manage the entire restaurant facility, setting the pace and fostering a culture of partnership between Back of House and Front of House staff

  • Oversee the kitchen operations, and lead a team of kitchen staff members, providing resources, training, and development opportunities

  • Monitor food production, ordering, cost, quality and consistency on a daily basis and conduct inventories

Required Qualifications:

  • 3 or more years’ experience as a chef at a fresh concept restaurant or hotel

  • Knowledge in New American Fusion with a Japanese inspired focus

  • Experience creating and modifying recipes

  • Experience in food service profit and loss management and running the financial aspects of a kitchen operation

  • Kitchen employee management experience, including hiring, training, scheduling, and developing a team

  • HACCP Food Safety certified

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Culinary Arts

  • Diverse culinary experience, including working with a variety of foods from different regions and/or cultures
