Overview

MS Consultants, one of the largest independent providers of cost segregation studies in the United States, is currently seeking a Cost Segregation Manager to play a highly visible role on our team. Amongst other client service and project management duties, this person will prepare and execute comprehensive fixed asset engagements. Remote flexibility is available.

Responsibilities

Review on-site inspection reports to confirm depreciable property and estimated unit costs utilizing costing manuals such as RS Means and industry standard techniques
Analyze construction cost ledgers, contractor payment applications, and other cost documentation and reconcile to accounting records
Analyze property data through property records, appraisals, & tax assessments
Prepare comprehensive fixed asset engagements including cost segregation, repairs and maintenance and depreciation studies
Research technical issues, prepare reports, and propose viable solutions
Provide quality assurance and engagement review support
Plan and schedule tax engagements with clients and firm resources
Serve as the main point of contact within our firm for client projects you manage
Manager is responsible for clients receiving proactive communication and timely service
Perform detailed reviews of work papers and provision calculations completed by other associates
Review tax returns, tax research, tax communications, and other requested deliverables
Communicate proactively with clients and engagement partners regarding project status, client service opportunities, and other significant matters in a timely manner
Provide training, direction, and supervision to staff and senior accountants
Maintain technical expertise in various tax areas related to industry specialization

Qualifications

Required:
Minimum of five years of cost segregation experience in a public accounting or engineering firm
Ability to travel and work at client locations as requested
Experience performing tax research, reading case law and familiarity with the internal revenue code and associated regulations
Experience managing multiple client engagements
Experience making recommendations to leadership
Qualities desired that will ensure success within the role:
CPA certification, EA certification, PE certification, PMP certification, CCSP or Member certification a plus
Prior public accounting experience a plus
Familiarity with Estimating Products and On-screen Take Off Software a plus
Ability to work autonomously and within a team
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to prioritize, plan and organize activities
Ability to provide excellent customer service, including a friendly attitude, empathy towards internal/external stakeholders, patience, attention to detail, good communication, sense of urgency, creativity, etc.
Willingness to change to meet organizational needs
Ability to process and maintain confidentiality while processing sensitive data
Gathers and analyzes customer feedback to assist in decision making
Hours Of Operation:
Our office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
Our summer hours are Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
Our team prides itself on flexibility; however, during busy season the ability to work additional hours is necessary
