Bonadio Group, The Payroll Specialist in Pittsford, New York

Under the direction of the Controller, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for the processing of TBG’s firm-wide payroll function and administration of other assigned tasks.

Payroll Administration:

  • Responsible for all aspects of the semi-monthly payroll processing for all partners and employees; to include HSA and FSA Review per pay period

  • Follow up with employees who are missing time entry or have other discrepancies in their time entry

  • Ensure “live” paychecks are appropriately distributed to all employees/office locations

  • Administers all relevant updates to ADP payroll system to ensure proper payroll processing relative to deductions, tax withholdings, bonus and special pay set ups

  • Ensures any irregular pay processing necessities are tracked and processed as needed

  • Prepares correspondence to employees related to compensation changes, bonuses, and profit sharing contributions

  • Completion of employment verification requests

  • Ensures all documentation is appropriately filed in relevant paperless personnel files


  • Prepares firm-wide headcount reports on a monthly basis

  • ACA Reform data maintenance in partnership with vendor

  • Conducts FLSA reviews

  • Assists the Senior Director, HR with research, development, and implementation of human resources policies.

  • Assists in coordinating and communication of the United Way activities.

  • Maintain the firm’s compliance with all federal, state and local regulations and updates/publishes policies accordingly.

  • Other duties/objectives as assigned.

  • Position requires minimum of 2+ years experience in payroll processing and/or an Associates or Bachelors degree in finance, accounting, human resources administration or related field of study

  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written

  • Demonstrated ability to utilize various types of technology and software applications including human resources systems and other related management systems; intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite

  • Demonstrated problem solving skills

  • Well developed interpersonal skills to handle human resources situations in a tactful, fair and businesslike manner

  • Analytical and multi-tasking skills to accomplish goals and objectives

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

Hours of Operation

  • Our office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

  • Our summer hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. to noon on Friday.

  • The ability to work additional hours during busy season is critical, but the rest of the year, flexibility is key.
