Bonadio Group, The Principal Accountant in Pittsford, New York
We have a tremendous opportunity for a Principal Accountant to play a key role on the Small Business Advisory team of the Bonadio Group’s Rochester office. This role requires the ability to continually learn and use new skills, and to work in a high-paced, client-service environment. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Be responsible for developing and managing client relationships and to identify new business opportunities contributing to growth and development
Work with an engagement to team to successfully service clients in multiple industries
Overall successful completion of client engagements:
Compilations and reviews, and\or
Tax compliance, research, correspondence and planning
Develop an understanding of our client’s business and aspects of their industry.
Review and prepare clear and concise working papers
Work on issues of diverse scope where analysis of a situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends.
Develop effective working relationships with internal and external clients
Assist with development and retention of clients, including the ability to cross-sell services
Assist clients with special projects such as budgeting and cash flow projections, tax planning and sales tax
Deliver projects/engagements on time, within budget and to client's satisfaction
Supervise train and mentor staff inclusive of oversight on client engagements and providing evaluative feedback
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of Bachelors of Science in Accounting
CPA certification
Minimum 7 years of relevant recent CPA Firm experience
Ability to provide mentoring and leadership to junior staff
Ability to develop and sustain business relationships for the purpose of increasing the firms client base
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite inclusive of Outlook
Self-starter with the ability to handle and manage multiple priorities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Seek involvement in professional and community organizations
Experience with ProSystems FX/Engagement software
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Hours Of Operation:
Our office hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
Our summer hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Friday
We pride ourselves on our flexibility; however the ability to work additional hours will be needed at peak times
