AHRC Nassau Operations Manager- Citz in Plainview, New York
Camp Loyaltown is a summer and full year respite program that supports children and adults with intellectual and other developmental disabilities. Practices and promotes the agency’s mission statement in every interaction. Serves as a liaison to other departments including Finance, Accounting, Compliance, Human Resources, Payroll and all other departments directly involved with the functioning of Camp Loyaltown. Coordinates all aspects of camper management to ensure that all required documentation and procedures are accurate and processed in a timely manner and participates in respite weekends. Annually organize administrative office at camp, oversee the camper operations for Camp and Citizens/ AHRC and organizes respite at camp. During months of June, July, August and mid-September, work at camp located in Hunter New York and in Plainview for the rest of the year.
Primary duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:
Practices and promotes Citizen’s mission statement in every interaction Through family and community engagement, Citizens support people to live the life they choose.
Assists in the development and adherence to annual camp budgets
Utilizes the database system for accurate tracking of purchase orders and camp business accounts in relation to camper requirements
Tracks all business finances to stay within budgetary guidelines
Participates in the opening and closing of the camp season in regard to all camper matters
Maintain active recruitment for all camper related operations and maintain business contacts and relationships with all camper partnerships.
Act as liaison for all summer campers before and after the summer season
Participates in respite weekends to include transportation to and from camp, direct support to people using respite and participation in recreational activities
Summer job responsibilities
Ensure that all records are properly organized, maintained and transmitted to Brookville and organized at camp.
Act as liaison between camp and AHRC/Citizens department in Brookville.
Maintain all camper records for camp.
Handle all camp banking and camper spending money.
Act as “point” person in communicating with the AHRC/Citizens Accounting departments regarding camper issues.
Maintain HIPPA compliance protocol for all camper records.
Maintain accurate records of all camper cash disbursements.
Accurately maintain camper Medicaid waiver billing records and communicate these records to accounting for proper posting and billing.
Oversee scheduling of campers and daily note taking utilizing the Medisked database.
Provide all training, scheduling, and supervision for camp 3-4 temporary office staff.
Work six (6) days flex days per weeks at camp during the months of June, July, August and part of September; during the rest of the year, work from Plainview Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Serve as Camp Loyaltown’s coordinator -
Coordinate mailings (via email) to all camper families/residences in order to effectively communicate.
Maintenance of camper information.
Responsible for organizing and implementing the distribution of Camper recruitment information.
Under the supervision of the Director and Assistant Director(s), coordinates advertising for all Camper openings.
Coordinate camper interviews for prospective campers with camp administrative staff.
Answer, screens and logs all incoming telephone calls pertaining to camper concerns.
Reports and documents any events/activities that may hinder the health, safety and well-being of the person that resides there (i.e., allegations of abuse, injuries, broken equipment, etc.).
Reports to the Justice Center, as a mandated reporter, if there is reasonable cause to suspect abuse or neglect. Additionally, must adhere to all Agency incident policy and procedures.
Adhere to Federal, New York State and DOH regulations, agency policy and procedures, employee handbook and Agency’s training requirements.
Performs other related duties.
Physical Aspects may include but are not limited to lifting and transferring of an adult/child participant. Along with varied assistance with personal care of all campers. Ability to lift 50 lbs
+ + High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
BA/BS degree with specialization in management and/or foreign language preferred or relevant job related experience.
Strong customer service and people skills preferred.
Must be computer proficient including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Data Base Systems.
Valid NYS Driver’s License, and maintain a Qualified driver status throughout employment.
Ability to communicate and understand written and oral directives and be a team player with a positive attitude
