Asphalt Plant Operator

Collins Companies, Jointa Lime Company is seeking a reliable individual for a full-time seasonal position as an Asphalt Plant Operator.

Essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation) :

• Perform a variety of tasks that will include having to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods of time, stretch, walk, climb and bend under potentially adverse field conditions and be able to perform visual tasks such as backup spotting and hear and react to back up alarms, per safety protocol

• Candidates will report directly to the site superintendent communicating production requirements and maintenance needs

• Be able to report to work at the designated start time

• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA/MSHA

• Seasonal position with overtime required during the peak season

• Continual communications with customers and coworkers to insure everyone is aware of any changes in operations, possible break downs or delays

• Coordinate with truck manager with regards to asphalt schedule for trucks, tons, times and plant locations for given jobs

• Operates plant according to production schedule using appropriate materials

• Monitor asphalt operation to ensure quality mix

• Performs a wide range of laboring duties within an Asphalt Plant

• Assist in plant maintenance and in compiling reports regarding plant production and maintenance

• Properly follow all company policies along with OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment

Qualifications:

• Experience in mechanical maintenance

• Experience in cutting torch/welding

• Process control knowledge

• Electrical knowledge – schematic reading

• Be able to operate equipment in a safe and professional manner

• Be able to operate and maintain equipment in a safe and clean condition

• Must feel comfortable working at heights

• Have the ability to follow through with efficiency on verbal and written instructions

• Must be willing to work in all weather conditions

• Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required

Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen. Jointa Lime is a drug free employer.
