Job Summary

The GIRL Experience Program Specialist/Resident Camp Director, as part of a Council wide program team, develops and implements Girl Scout programs, camping and outdoor education programs. S/he ensures the strength of the Girl Scout Movement, and as part of the program team, manages Pathway initiatives and program delivery. S/he ensures all activities adhere to quality and safety standards, address the needs and interest of girl members, and are consistent with the Girl Scout Mission. S/he ensures that all programs are equally accessible to all girls served by Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson (GSHH).

Job Qualifications

• Provide input into the development of long- and short-term plans and strategies for GSHH program strategies. Collaborate with the membership team and volunteers to develop and implement programs to ensure membership and program goals are achieved.

• Develop and implement an annual plan with other program managers to develop and ensure implementation of GSHH wide program activities including direct program delivery, outdoor and environmental education; summer camp programs and special events. Must ensure program goals are achieved as well as meet the needs and interests of girl members. Evaluate program activities so the results are part of future planning.

• Ensure that certifications and inspections are up to date.

• Ensure that all necessary and mandatory guidelines comply with ACA and New York State Department of Health.

• Develop program budgets and monitor them to ensure expenses do not exceed approved budget.

• Regularly assess the needs and interests of girls and informs the Director of GIRL Experience to ensure GSHH can respond with relevant program activities and better usage of Council facilities.

• Develop program activities based on the needs and interests of girls. Utilize demographic data maps to identify communities and identify girls who may benefit from the Girl Scout program.

• Build and maintain collaborative relations with community organizations, agencies, businesses, and local and state governments, to maximize the Girl Scout program experience.

• Interpret GSHH and GSUSA policies, standards and practices, and ensure compliance with all program, health and safety standards.

• Ensure all programs follow Safetywise and Risk Management best practices.

• Provide technical program assistance to all GSHH staff for regional and community events.

• Maintain a Customer Service focus for both internal and external stakeholders.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
