Historic Hudson Valley Senior Associate Director, Event Production in Pocantico Hills, New York

Historic Hudson Valley seeks a seasoned event management professional to help lead the team that produces its portfolio of annual festivals, ranging from the Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze to smaller celebrations of regional history and culture at its National Historic Landmark sites in Westchester County. Successful candidates will have eight or more years of managerial experience producing events in the cultural, performing arts, or entertainment arenas. Applicants should demonstrate senior-level background in the business and creative aspects of sophisticated, complex events and possess strong analytical, project management, staff management, and communication skills. They should have a high level of energy, be enthusiastic about working outdoors, and thrive under the pressure of deadlines (especially during multiple concurrent events). Experience in outdoor settings and guest services is desirable. Familiarity with the fabrication of temporary/traveling structures, scenic design, theatrical lighting, sound systems, and carpentry/construction is helpful. Reporting to Historic Hudson Valley’s Director of Event Production and supervising departmental staff, the Senior Associate Director of Event Production is responsible for multiple aspects of event conceptualization, planning, administration, and delivery. These include leading event development/production teams; managing consultants and vendors; coordinating technical and creative components; developing and managing budgets; and supervising, mentoring, motivating, and evaluating event production staff. The Senior Associate Director is an on-site presence at events to ensure their smooth operation, production quality, standard of hospitality, and overall guest safety and comfort. The Senior Associate Director will integrate into Historic Hudson Valley’s existing Event Production team, draw satisfaction from implementing creative visions conceptualized by working groups, and delight visitors onsite at historic properties by delivering Historic Hudson Valley’s unique brand of family entertainment tied to history, culture, and place. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Westchester County, NY with occasional travel to an event location in central Long Island.
