The Salvation Army Food Pantry Coordinator/Office Aide in Port Chester, New York
Overview
The Food Pantry Coordinator/ Office Aide will work from Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00pm and need be available for especial events on Saturdays or extra hours that can be need or ask from Corps Officers
Responsibilities
Assisting to keeping accurate records of Community Service workers files.
Keeping records according to Officers instructions.
Assisting in any Administrative task as needed upon instruction.
Assist in maintaining Food Pantry; help in preparing food baskets as per need of Social Services.
Clerical duties as follows: Greeting those who comes in, directing all corridor traffic, screening nature of visit/call to determine if we offer that type of assistance, if not, offering further assistance by referral.
Assisting in maintain files in order, making copies, Computer work, maintenance and update of client files, reports, flyers, assisting with thank you letters and cards, maintaining neat office area.
Assisting in taking Back to School, Thanksgiving and Christmas applications, assisting with Back-Pack, Angel Tree and Christmas food/toy/supplies distribution.
Decoration and posting of bulletin boards and keeping up with the seasons
Required to answer the phones, receive visitors, and appropriately direct them.
Keeps up-to-date records and statistics as required
To contribute to the development of the Corps’ Ministries by actively participating in staff meeting
Reports to work well-groomed and in compliance with dress code.
Assist with all aspects of the Food Pantry operation (including ordering, client appointments, organization, and cleanliness), under the direction of the Office Manager
Receive clients and aid them with the appropriate specific assistance (including the issuing of Financial Assistance Vouchers), as directed by the Corps Officers.
Develop and maintain accurate case files for clients, as a part of their case management profile.
To develop a professional relationship with Coworkers, to identify outreach opportunities amongst social service clients and Star Lake camp.
May be asked to provide translation for oral or written communications.
Serve as a secretary in Staff Meetings, Advisory Council Meetings and the like, as assigned
Keep general office area in good order and maintain orderly computer files and back-ups.
Monitors security camera videos and reports any suspicious activity to the supervisor or the administration
A ssist in any other areas as assigned by Corps Officers, including distributions of toys and back-packs on Saturdays and special events.
Communicate with Advisory Board and Corps Council members, as necessary
To facilitate, in every way possible, the mission of The Salvation Army, at the direction of the Corps Officers.
Qualifications
High School Diploma Required; Associate Degree Preferred
Fluent in English & Spanish preferred
Must be punctual and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Must be self-motivated, highly organized, and able to work independently
Ability to maintain thehighest standard of professionalismandconfidentialityduring and after employment, in all matters.
