When you join PPGNY as a Registered Nurse you will join a collaborative team whose goal is to ensure that patients are treated with respect and dignity and that they leave feeling informed and care for.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for the coordination of patient phone calls and documentation of encounters in the patient records related to Sexual Reproductive Health

  • Assists in provision of Transgender Health Services in conjunction with Advanced Practice Clinicians. Assists in training patients with self - injection of hormones.

  • Coordination of patient consults regarding clinical and staff questions that assist with triage and patient flow

  • Completes clinical history and intake

  • Assists with the provision of Sexual and Reproductive Health Services in conjunction with Advanced Practice Clinicians including but not limited to triage, contraception and administering medications

  • In conjunction with DCS, DQM and other clinical operations leadership, develops training materials and programs for licensed and unlicensed support staff

  • Assists in the provision of Surgical Abortion Services in conjunction with the SAB team. Familiar with all aspects of nursing roles in Surgical Abortion Services, including support in rooms, recovery, and medication administration

  • Provides health education and nursing care related to family planning, reproductive health, abortion service, transgender health services, and STI’s to all clients

  • Provide accurate patient centered, non-judgmental, education according to MS&G and signs informed consent related to visits

  • Coordination of lab results for APCs including, but not limited to, GC, CT. TSH, Prolactin, treponemal testing and Urine Cultures

You have:

  • NYS License & Certification as a Registered Nurse

  • Ability to work a flexible or extended schedule, including evenings and weekends, as operational demands require

  • Willingness to travel to adjacent centers as needed to provide coverage

  • A demonstrated commitment to learning about and enhancing practices related to racial equity and its impact on healthcare systems.

  • Ability to provide compassionate, non-judgmental and culturally responsive care across race, class, age, gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, national origin or ability; and demonstrates deep sense of accountability to patient experience.

What makes your stand out:

  • Computer proficiency; Experience with electronic health Records

  • Competency in at least one additional language other than English

  • ACLS

Compensation

  • $50.38 per hour

Proof of immunization or immunity to certain communicable diseases (including influenza during the flu season and Covid-19) and testing for tuberculosis. These certifications are required by the NYC DOHMH Health Code, NYSDOH and OSHA.
