The New Media Technology program in the Humanities Department at LaGuardia Community College seeks an adjunct professor to teach a 3D animation course to undergraduate students. The course will be this summer 2024 semester, and meets Tuesday and Thursdays from 9:15AM - 2:00PM, June 20th 2024 to August 8, 2024. The class meets in person on campus in Long Island City, Queens.
About the New Media Technology Program:
The New Media Technology Program prepares students with technical competence, aesthetic judgment, and a strong commitment to design quality as they pursue an Associate of Applied Science Degree. Throughout the program, emphasis is placed on developing individual creativity, critical thinking, and an understanding of the current tools used in the field of new media.
About the Humanities Department:
The Humanities Department at LaGuardia Community College nurtures the creativity and fierce independence of our students through courses that encourage them to interpret the world through unconventional lenses, and never blindly accept the status quo.
QUALIFICATIONS
For Adjunct Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor:
Master's Degree in 3D Animation, Game Design, Film and Video or related area. Also required is the ability to teach successfully.
For Adjunct Lecturer:
Bachelor's degree in 3D Animation, Game Design, Film and Video or related area, and the ability to teach successfully.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
•Demonstrated experience successfully teaching 3D Animation at the college-level
•Master’s degree in 3D Animation, Game Design, Film and Video or related area
•Ability to teach beginning-level animation concepts with technical experience
•Working knowledge of Blender and Adobe Creative Suite
•Experienced working with students from diverse backgrounds and life experiences, students with disabilities and/or special needs
COMPENSATION
For Adjunct Lecturer: $91.67/hour
For Adjunct Assistant Professor: $100/hour
For Adjunct Associate Professor: $108.33/hour
For Adjunct Full Professor: $112.50/hour
