Police Athletic League Advocate Instructor in Queens, New York

The Police Athletic League (PAL) is the largest independent youth organization in New York City that provides educational and recreational activities for children and young adults. PAL Inc. and The New York City Police Department work in partnership to provide communities with summer and after-school recreational and educational activities.

We are looking for an Advocate/Instructor to: 

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Curriculum development and the integration of academic lessons into activities

  • Will work directly with participants, organizing and facilitating program activities

  • Workshops include study hall, regents and SAT prep, project-based service learning, job readiness training, internship placement, finical literacy, field trips, and life skills development activities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in Education, Psychology, Social Services, or Child Development

  • Two years of youth development experience with high school-aged youth

  • Must possess strong classroom management skills.

  • Must demonstrate the ability to facilitate workshop activities.

  • Must be responsible and organized with strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must be a team player.

  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus.

Hours: M-F 2:00PM-6:30PM 1 Saturday per month 8:00AM-6:00PM

Salary: $26.00 Per Hour
