Michael Page International Inc. Director of Inventory Planning in Queens, New York


  • Monitor business performance and work with cross functional partners in buying and merchandise planning to develop action plans to improve in stocks and end of period OTB goals

  • Own the inventory plan in partnership with buying and merchandise planning to ensure financial and in stock goals are met

  • Manage the inventory replenishment process for both domestic and import items into the supply chain network to support omnichannel demand and deliver targeted service level and financial KPI's

  • Partner with merchants and product development to support the launch of new programs/items and ensure items are forecasted, ordered, and allocated across channels

  • Provide analysis and insights to buying and assortment planning to ensure assortment maximizes sales/margin/inventory targets

  • Manage inventory allocation process for seasonal, own brands and import programs to ensure product is allocated efficiently for all channels across the entire network

  • Work collaboratively with buying, supply chain and visual merchandising to ensure inventory readiness for all promotions and events

  • Represent the inventory team on major strategic projects providing clear direction to internal/external stakeholders

  • Collaborate with strategic suppliers to deliver accurate vendor forecasts for the purpose of driving fill rate improvements

  • Develop continuous improvement mindset looking for opportunities to optimize key inventory parameters (forecasts, lead times, order cycles…) across the internal team and vendor community

  • Partner with Supply Chain and vendors to ensure effective and timely flow of inventory to meet metrics

  • Accountable for end-of-life inventory management working cross functionally with buying and pricing team

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or merchandising required

  • 5-7 years of experience at a director level in a mid-large size retailer

  • Prior experience managing in both a seasonal and replenishment environment strongly preferred

  • Experience working in advanced planning solutions, Netsuite experience a plus

  • Highly skilled at business planning and analysis, problem solving and inventory management techniques

  • Solid understanding of supply chain networks and omni channel inventory fulfillment strategies a must
