About the Role:

We are seeking a Learn and Earn Job Developer to join our team at Epic North High School. This school-based role is pivotal to our mission of empowering young people by connecting them with meaningful work-based learning opportunities and preparing them for workforce success.

As a Job Developer, you will:

  • Foster career development for students.

  • Build and sustain partnerships with employers.

  • Equip students with the skills, resources, and confidence needed for internships, part-time jobs, and long-term career pathways.

Collaborating with school staff, students, and local businesses, you will create opportunities that support immediate job readiness and future professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:1. Employer Engagement and Partnerships

  • Build and maintain relationships with businesses and organizations to secure job placements, internships, and mentorships.

  • Identify industries and roles that match students' skills, interests, and goals.

  • Serve as the primary liaison between employers and the school, ensuring clear communication and expectations.

  • Recruit 35 WIOA-eligible juniors and 35 WIOA-eligible seniors under the guidance of the Program Director.

  1. Student Job Preparation
  • Facilitate workshops on resume writing, interview techniques, and workplace etiquette.

  • Conduct individual career counseling sessions to help students explore career interests and pathways.

  • Guide students through job applications, interview preparations, and workplace navigation.

  1. Program Implementation
  • Organize job fairs, career panels, and networking events to broaden students' exposure to career options.

  • Coordinate summer and year-round internships for approximately 70 students in the Learn and Earn program.

  • Track and manage data on student participation and outcomes using DYCD Connect and Salesforce, ensuring alignment with program goals and funding requirements.

  1. Alumni Support
  • Provide follow-up services for 35 program alumni annually for up to 12 months post-graduation.

  • Offer ongoing support, including job leads, career counseling, and referral services.

  1. Collaboration with School Staff
  • Partner with guidance counselors, teachers, and administrators to integrate career readiness into school culture.

  • Collaborate with academic staff to ensure students balance work and school responsibilities.

  • Provide school leadership with insights on employment trends and student training needs.

  1. Monitoring and Reporting
  • Maintain accurate records of student placements, employer partnerships, and program outcomes.

  • Report progress to program coordinators and stakeholders, emphasizing successes and improvement areas.

  • Ensure program activities comply with NYC Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) standards.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Social Work, Business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).

  • 1-3 years of experience in job development, vocational counseling, or working with young adults aged 17-24.

  • Proven ability to develop job opportunities for low-skilled job seekers.

Preferred Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce clear case notes.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management tools.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively under pressure.

  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish, Russian, or Chinese is a plus.

  • Familiarity with basic accounting or bookkeeping is advantageous.
