New York Edge People Operations Specialist in Queens, New York

The Position:

New York Edge is seeking an organized, personable, and clear communicator to fill the role of People Operations Specialist. In this part time position, you will work cross-functionally with all internal teams to ensure that employees receive an optimum onboarding experience. Assist in all aspects related to the onboarding of new employees at New York Edge. This position will focus on creating memorable experiences for employees, providing a point of contact (questions, communication) for onboarding candidates. The ideal candidate must have problem-solving skills and the ability to carry out an efficient onboarding process. Work collaboratively with HR, Recruitment, Compliance, etc. Provide support with Training and Employee Engagement initiatives.

Job Type:

Part-Time, Year Round

Pay Rate:

Commensurate with experience; pay range is $25-$30/hr.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Commitment to delivering outstanding employee experiences through responsive and compassionate interactions with all levels of employees and management.

  • Fostering close cross departmental partnerships with program leadership, payroll, compliance, training & development, and recruiting to ensure a smooth onboarding experience.

  • Manage relationships with site directors in over 100 locations.

  • Available to answer questions and solve any issues that may occur during the onboarding process.

  • Deliver a superior new hire experience by providing a high level of customer service, and maintaining quality throughout the pre-employment onboarding process.

  • Monitoring new employee feedback to make improvements to the onboarding process.

  • Review current procedures to determine if they are efficient and effective. Make recommendations for process improvements. Develop and participate in the implementation of new processes.

  • Create documentation and user guides of the entire onboarding process for future use.

  • strategize how to improve and continue to innovate down to the details that produce a world class experience.

  • Assist with tracking required training of large groups on an ongoing basis (Mandated for Federal State and program compliance; online or in person training)

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's Degree; (business/human resources/related field ) prefered

  • Previous onboarding experience in a human resources capacity

  • Strong computer skills. Proficient in MS Office/Google Suites, HRIS system experience and Employee Online Training Programs.

  • Experience with creating Excel spreadsheets for the ability to track all new hires onboarding process

Covid-19 Related Requirements:

  • Must provide proof of vaccination against the Covid-19 virus.

  • Must be able to adhere to all federal, state, and local mandates regarding the Covid-19 virus which include but are not limited to wearing PPE and remaining socially distant whenever possible.

At time of offer and acceptance, the job requires safety and security clearances through the Department of Education and Department of Health.
