New York Edge Purchasing Manager in Queens, New York

New York Edge is seeking a highly organized, motivated, and reliable individual to fill the role of Purchasing Manager. In this full time role, you be responsible for all phases of the procurement process of goods and services. You will report directly to Chief Financial Officer for guidance and support.

Primary Job Functions:

  • Works collaboratively with CFO to establish robust Purchasing processes, procedures, and controls.

  • Competitively bids orders and maintains vendor relationships.

  • Negotiates pricing of goods and services.

  • Places orders based on purchase requisition orders from all departments.

  • Ensures that purchasing requests are executed promptly and reliably.

  • Tracks subscriptions and licensing arrangements to ensure all renewals are valid.

  • Analyzes quotes, invoices, packing slips, and delivery tickets for discrepancies in pricing, product specifications, and quantities.

  • Maintains records of purchase orders, deliveries, outstanding requisitions, backorders, and orders not delivered

  • Supervises Purchasing Specialist.

  • Physically maintains a presence in the receiving department.

  • Acts as backup to the Purchasing Specialist in the performance of all of his/her duties and responsibilities.

  • Oversees receiving of all products delivered to New York Edge Headquarters.

  • Manages warehousing of all inventory housed at New York Edge Headquarters.

  • Manages distribution of inventory delivered to Headquarters.

  • Promptly forwards data to Accounts Payable -- thus ensuring prompt payment of all New York Edge vendor liabilities, and guarding against payment for goods or services not properly approved or delivered.

  • Performs other related duties, as required


  • A Bachelor’s level Degree from an accredited institution

  • 3 years of demonstrably successful procurement experience

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Demonstrated proficiency in organizing and managing multiple projects

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently

  • Proficient with Google Applications and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), including document editing and tracking changes

    Covid-19 Relate Requirments:

  • Must provide proof of vaccination against the Covid-19 virus

  • Must adhere to all local, state, and federal Covid-19 guidelines, policies and mandates. This includes but not limited to wearing PPE and remaining socially distant whenever possible.
