The Mgmt Rptg Sr Analyst is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.

Responsibilities:

Business Analysis

  • Partner with key stakeholder to capture Business Requirement

  • Prioritize and translate Business Requirements into Functional Requirements

  • Partner with teams and senior leaderships to comply with data-driven policies and strategies across the organization

Data Mining and Data Management

  • Collect data from various data sources

  • Normalize, refine, and prepare data for analytics, reporting and visualization

  • Solve data or performance issues related to workbooks and data sources

  • Define new KPIs and consistent measures in the datasets

  • Define access controls and implement security measures whenever required

  • Improve overall process in data management, collection, dashboard design, and entire product life cycle

Analytics and Reporting

  • Develop, design, and maintain dashboards and analytics (using visualization tools such as Tableau, Excel, PowerBI, QlikView etc.)

  • Leverage data, dashboards and reports to communicate and extract meaningful insights, and make informed business decisions

  • Prepare and build analytics and reports using various visualization and data modeling methods

  • Test and publish dashboards and reports and schedule refresh

  • Create wireframes and beta dashboards with a focus on user experience, correctness, and visibility

  • Apply algorithms and statistical methods to obtain answers from data

  • Monitoring reports and dashboards and make necessary changes

  • Manage Tableau-driven implementations, architecture, and administration

  • Actively manage the performance and usability of Tableau to get the desired result

  • Manage and oversee Budgeting, Headcount Planning and Projections, Capacity Planning, Location Strategy, Talent Recruitment, Organizational Design Compliance, T&E (Travel and Expense) and recurring and ad-hoc analytics and reporting activities

  • Acquire, analyze, and translate data into concise messaging to support decision making for the head of Risk Data, Analytics, Reporting & Technology (RMEC member) as well as for key stakeholders to make appropriate managerial decisions

  • Create executive business summary reports, presentations, and other business materials

  • Implement innovative solutions and digital capabilities, leveraging technology and industry best practices

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to reduce reliance upon manual processes and end user computing tools

  • Implement robust data quality controls, to ensure safety and soundness of our analytics framework

  • Contributes to the Data Governance, Data Services and Data Quality initiatives across the organization.

  • Participates in efforts to ensure Risk and Finance comply with the Citigroup Data Management Policy

  • Assists in centrally acquiring all data related to Risk and Finance management and regulatory reporting processes while ensuring data quality, completeness and consistency across the organization.

  • Helps prepare and review monthly financial summaries and monthly business reviews for senior management that clearly communicate the financial performance of the business

  • Designs, implement, and monitors key performance indicators and metrics

  • Drives process improvement opportunities that enhance the efficiency of the financial reporting cycle while also increasing the informative value of the content provided to senior management

  • Leverages technical expertise to execute quantitative analyses that translates into actionable insights for management

  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.

  • Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.

  • Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Knowledge/Experience

  • BS or MS degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or other analytical discipline

  • 6+ years of experience with report development including designing executive-level reports and dashboards at a global bank

  • In depth understanding of Risk Management and Risk Reporting, Budget/Capacity Planning as well as Risk Governance Activities

  • Experience in organizational planning, activity specific task delegation, employee professional development and training

  • Ability to interface with senior management, including at the Director and Managing Director level

  • Financial services risk management experience

Technical Skills

  • Ability to drive end-to-end implementation and enhancements starting from requirement gathering to dashboard development in Tableau

  • Knowledge designing databases, creating queries, data architecture, data modeling, data mapping, data analysis, and data visualization

  • Hands-on experience on R and Python coding. (DataFrame, dplyr, tidyverse, tidyr, OS, Pandas, Numpy, etc.)

  • Working knowledge of SQL, Python and other programming languages

  • Ability to create, organize, customize, and present analysis and data insights to executive leadership

  • Deep knowledge of MS Excel (Index match, Offset, Choose, Lookups Macro, VBA, etc.)

  • Expertise of Tableau: (Desktop, Server, Prep. Pivot, Unpivot, Aggregation, Joins, Union, LOD functions, Window Calculations, Index, etc.)

  • Able to manipulate and blend data to design dashboards and visualizations (Excel, Tableau Prep, R or Python, etc.)

  • Highly proficient and/or familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Visio, MS-Access, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint etc.
