Police Athletic League Tutor in Queens, New York
The Police Athletic League (PAL) is the largest independent youth organization in New York City that provides educational and recreational activities for children and young adults. PAL Inc. and The New York City Police Department work in partnership to provide communities with summer and after-school recreational and educational activities.
We are looking for a part-time Tutor who will be responsible for assisting high school students in the area of homework assistance and improved literacy in our College Access Program. Knowledge of NYC HS curriculum. Specifically seeking expertise in subject areas of Math, Science & History, SAT, Regents, ELA or any experience with teens.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct homework help and individual tutoring as necessary.
Support students across a variety of education topics
Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications
Associate degree in Education or Child Development.
Two years of youth development experience with high school-aged youth.
Expertise in the provision of instructional support in a high school Regent’s subject •
Must possess strong classroom management skills.
Must demonstrate the ability to facilitate group tutoring.
Must be responsible and organized with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must be a team player.
Fluency in Spanish is a plus
Proficient in Math, Science and English
Hours: M-F 2:00PM-6:30PM 1 Saturday per month 8:00PM-6:00PM
Salary: $20 per hour
