Adirondack Winery Offsite Event Staff in Queensbury, New York
Adirondack Winery is seeking outgoing, energetic, reliable, trustworthy individuals who are looking for an exciting weekend job that have a passion for wine, people, events & Made-in-NY products! You don't have to be a wine expert; we train on that; but an outgoing personality with a knack for sales will create success in this position.What would you be doing? Assisting our Offsite Events Team in traveling to and setting up/breaking down our table/booth/tent at our off-site events; pouring samples of wine to event attendees; talking knowledgeably about the winery and wines, selling wine; helping account for inventory, etc. Our events vary from large state-wide wine festivals and fairs to smaller farmers markets, charity events and liquor store tastings. Every event is different, fun, and interactive!Work Schedule - This is a part time position where day and time of shifts will vary. Most of these events typically take place Friday, Saturday and/or Sunday; however, there are some weekday farmers markets or Thursday evening festivals or charity events, that may occur as well. Overnight stays to great locations throughout New York State are sometimes involved (travel & hotel stays arranged by Adirondack Winery). Hours for events can range from 4-13 hours per day depending on the event. Adirondack Winery will be hiring multiple candidates for this position and commitment to events will be based on each person’s availability.Time of Year? Adirondack Winery attends wine festivals, galas, and liquor store tastings throughout the entire year; however, the busiest event season is May/June and September / October.PAY: $20/hour + Incentive pay based on sales at eventsJOB REQUIREMENTS:Must be Age 21+ Previous experience in sales, retail, customer service, hospitality, or the restaurant/bartending industry is preferred. A “thirst” to learn more about and enjoy Adirondack Winery wine. Prior wine knowledge a plus, but not required. Must be able to stand on your feet for entire shifts and comfortably lift multiple cases of wine repetitively (a case is approx. 35lbs) to load and unload for events. Reliable transportation and a clean driving record are a must, as driving the company van may also be involved.
