Six Flags Pool Water Technician (Seasonal) in Queensbury, New York


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for daily and monthly pool readings (records) of all pools

  • Routinely check pH, chlorine, total chlorine, and alkalinity levels of pool water

  • Adjusts chlorinators and add chemicals as required

  • Wash down and clean all areas adjacent to pool, boiler room, equipment room, and pool equipment

  • Cleans and maintains swimming pool by vacuuming, skimming, cleaning scum gutters and baskets

  • Consistently maintain proper pool chemistry

  • Operate and maintain filters, chlorinators, and pool equipment, including pool heating equipment

  • Perform repairs and test pool equipment in a safe and timely manner

  • Install any new equipment for the facility

  • Properly complete the daily Maintenance Requests and/or log sheets and turns them in to the supervisor

    Skills and Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • General knowledge of tools used in above tasks

  • A willingness to help other departments as time permits

  • Must be able to operate a 2-way communication system

  • Must be able to lift over 50 lbs repeatedly

  • Must be available to work day or evening shift, weekends, and holidays

  • Must be able to repeatedly and continuously bend/stoop, reach, lift/carry, push/pull, squat/kneel, and twist

  • Knowledgeable in new industry trends and techniques

  • Extensive knowledge of entire chlorinator system, pool operation, filtering system

  • Possess organizational skills

  • Possess ability to prioritize and a willingness to learn

  • Must have the ability multi-task and to work under pressure, while staying calm and professional in all situations

  • Ability to have a professional, courteous, and friendly attitude towards guests and co-workers

  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and other shifts as necessary

  • Valid Driver’s License and a clear driving record.

Other Functions: All other duties assigned or necessary to support the resort as a whole.
