Planned Parenthood of Greater New York is seeking multiple Clinicians - Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants to join our Clinical Services Team. Please apply to this posting if you would like to be considered for any of the locations listed below.

Float Clinician - Region 2 North, Schenectady, Queensbury, Saratoga, Johnstown, and Amsterdam health centers.
Full Time Clinician - Amsterdam, Cobleskill, Utica, or Saratoga
Per Diem Clinician - Utica

What a Clinician does:
Working within the context of affiliate medical protocols, this position will provide primary reproductive health care for patients and the provision of responsive, patient-centered services
Secures an appropriate health history based on the nature of the visit; performs physical examinations with special emphasis on the reproductive system; performs, orders, interprets diagnostic studies as indicated and permitted by affiliate medical protocols and documents the visit information into the Electronic Medical Record system
Provides medication abortion after training
Recognizes and treats minor deviations from the normal, using prescribed protocols and consulting with the Medical Director or program director and other colleagues as needed
Provides relevant health instruction to include family planning, nutrition, sexual counseling, and principles of health promotion and maintenance
Provides relevant counseling to include pregnancy options including all methods of abortion and referrals as necessary
Provides education and appropriate management for women and men in need of reproductive related services, including fertility control, infertility, and sexually transmitted infections
Responsible for ensuring optimal patient flow and service excellence
Collaborates with the health team and other community agencies and resources through joint planning and coordination of activities, in providing comprehensive care
Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements
Accepts individual and joint responsibility for, and participates in attainment of annual health center fiscal goals in revenue, expenses and contribution margin as well as meeting established benchmarks
BA in Physician Assistant Studies (PAS) OR Master of Science in Nursing (NP Only), Health Science (MHS), or Medical Science (MMSc)
Active NY State licensure as a Registered Nurse Practitioner or Registered Physician Assistant or Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), and Certified Midwife (CM)
You have a demonstrated understanding of the role that racial inequity plays in our society and its impact on healthcare systems and institutions, and consistently integrate your deep understanding of key racial equity concepts into work projects and interactions by addressing structural implications and disproportionate impacts of policies, activities, and decisions on race, class and other group identities within the context of job responsibilities and projects.
You have a demonstrated understanding of how race dynamics impact supervisory relationships, organizational culture, clinical service delivery, partnerships, campaigns and coalition work, and can demonstrate a history of successfully intervening in problematic dynamics and deepening a racial equity approach within an organization, team, service, program, or campaign
1+ years of clinical experience as an NP or PA
Clinical Experience working in Sexual Reproductive Health
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Strong commitment to building a patient-centric practice and clinical team.
Bilingual in English and Spanish

Proof of immunization or immunity to certain communicable diseases (including influenza during the flu season) and testing for tuberculosis. These certifications are required by the NYC DOHMH Health Code, NYSDOH and OSHA.
