What you’ll do

The Sr. Manager of Category Management will directly support the West (Albertsons, HEB, Supervalu), Mass (Target & Walmart), and Whole Foods sales teams as the primary analytics provider, working to developing insight driven recommendations and direction to accomplish sales objectives, execute category strategies, and drive sales. Be a trailblazer

  • Collaborate with KIND category & sales leadership to:

  • Build Category Management capabilities for KIND at your key retailers and grow thought leadership leading to profitable category growth for your retailers and KIND

  • Actively advise your retailers on category and shopper centric opportunities to grow market share

  • Develop transformational, fact-based recommendations on how to reimage the aisles KIND is located in through consumer & shopper insights that will create value for both your retailers and KIND, quantifying opportunities for macro-space assortment, aisle optimization, promotion optimization, new item sell-in, and pricing strategies

  • Be the expert on your retailers and KIND with a deep understating of rest of market trends that are driving marketplace growth

Drive Best in class Category Management Recommendations

  • Create and plan category leadership solutions that should include shopper and category insights across: item assortment (everyday/new products/promoted/seasonal), everyday shelving and merchandising, pricing and promotions

  • In accordance to KIND Strategic Category & Sales initiatives, execute, category leadership solutions agreed to with your retailers to accelerate both Category and KIND growth (including setting success measures, following through and monitoring)

  • Where appropriate, manage and deliver against the responsibilities of the Category Captaincy/Advisory process in partnership with the customer and advisor manufacturer partners

Build partnerships & Identify Opportunities

  • Establish relationships with key retailer stakeholders, KIND leaders and partners

  • Lead KIND’s engagement with Albertsons shopper card data

  • Work closely with local sales team and sales leadership to develop and participate in Top-to-Top, JBPs, line reviews and monthly/quarterly business reviews

  • Work with KIND HQ cross-functional teams to identify specific insights opportunities, assist with any research, and help deliver category leadership solutions

  • Leverage insights and resources through the utilization of a broad range of data sources, market research findings, tools, analyses, and technology to continually bring new (revenue generating) shopper ideas to your retailers and KIND

What you’ll bring to KIND

  • Deep analytical expertise, especially working with syndicated data software (i.e., IRI or Nielsen) and experience using Symphony Retail shopper card data

  • Experience influencing through data and insights storytelling

  • Demonstrated leadership skills

Required Experience:

You have…

  • Bachelor’s Degree is Required (Business, Food Management, or Psychology Preferred)

  • 7+ Years of CPG experience working within the Sales Team or Category Management / Insights Groups

  • High degree of self-motivation and discipline

  • Exceptional organization and communication skills (both written & verbal)

  • Excel at math, analytics, and problem-solving

  • Expertise in Excel, PowerPoint, and syndicated data (Nielsen, IRI, SPINs)

  • Expertise in Symphony Retail data

  • Knowledge of POG software (Blue Yonder, Spaceman, Apollo, etc.)

  • Ability to work with a wide variety of individuals within the organization and maintain regular contact with all stakeholders

  • Team oriented with the ability to work independently

  • Initiative and ability to work with various individuals and groups inside and outside the company progressing towards a common goal

  • The ability to travel to the customer once a month
