The Child Center of NY Temporary Program Director - Summer Employment in Richmond Hill, New York

The Director is responsible for overseeing all facets of multiple programs including clinical, educational, advocacy and administrative services. Builds key relationships with all significant contacts (internal & external) including practice providers, service line leaders, billing office, Finance, Human Resources, physician practices support staff and relevant department leads and supervisors. He/she strategizes with appropriate personnel to ensure the optimal delivery of high quality services. Responsible for the strategic oversight of monitoring budget, audits and all components of Program compliance.


Essential Functions :

  • Oversee all operations of the program(s) to ensure the utilization rate, census, and productivity goas are achieved.

  • Ensure the cost-effective delivery of high quality preventive services to the families served by the program(s) and the smooth operation of the program(s).

  • Prepares for audits and meets with auditors from various regulatory agencies. Develops and implements response and/or change of policies/procedures to meet regulatory requirements.

  • Meet performance expectations/metrics, as defined for the position within the assigned program.

  • Communicate program aspects throughout the agency and oversee community engagement and outreach.

  • Other Duties as assigned

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    Manages the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Program/Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the agency policies and applicable laws. Deep understanding and knowledge of Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) where applicable. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, directing work, rewarding, disciplining employees, performance reviews, and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Public Administration or related field.

  • Certification may be required.

  • 8 years’ experience in a similar role, minimum of 2 years’ supervising staff.

  • Demonstrated competence in counseling, supervision, and working knowledge of community program administration and planning.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently.

  • Ability to prioritize, adhere to timelines and multi-task.
