Description

The Office of Undergraduate Admissionsis seeking a full time (40 hours/week), Admissions Counselor to be part of an innovative and ambitious enrollment team. The primary role of the Admissions Counselor is to enroll students and create positive, continuous connections with all constituents seeking information about the admission process including prospective students, parents, highschool school and community college counselors, community partners, church leaders and others. Viable candidates will have excellent time management and analytical skills with an aptitude for detail and accuracy. The Admissions Counselor will be expected to update and maintain student records frequently using a variety of customer relation management software.

Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential. Public speaking is an integral part of this position. The Admissions Counselor will develop and implement a multifaceted recruiting plan for their assigned territory that includes calling, texting, emailing, networking via social media, high school visits, attending college fairs, and conducting off campus interviews among other strategies. The Admissions Counselor is required to participate in all admissions-sponsored campus activities (Discovery Days, Transfer Days, Honors Weekend, Accepted Students Day, New Student Registration, New Student Orientation, Summer Camp, Summer Send Off, etc.) Frequent travel is expected, as is occasional weekend and evening work during peak recruiting season.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree preferred. Valid driver’s license required. Must be able to travel by air, train and car. Previous admissions, teaching or sales related experience given a priority. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. A successful candidate must value the principles of diversity and equity.
