About Procurement

Our global Supply Chain Services team includes over 450 people working across 33 countries and speaking 46 languages. EY Technology (EYT) creates, manages, and operates all the technology used by EY covering the entire process life cycle, from understanding the needs of the organization’s different Areas and service lines, through defining appropriate strategy and architecture, to the delivery of solutions and managed operational services.

Beyond the basic provision of reliable, cost-effective IT infrastructure and operations, EYT is increasingly acting as a catalyst for business success. Priority projects such as Global CRM, Data Center Consolidation, and messaging and collaboration are essential to delivering on EY’s Global Priorities, and in sustaining our competitive advantage as the most globally integrated organization in professional services.

Within EYT, the Client Technology Sourcing team supports key programs and solutions globally in partnership with our Client Technology and Service Line colleagues to continue to enhance EY’s position as a technology driven industry leader.

Technology Sourcing is part of the Global Procurement Group focusing on the requirements from the Technology teams and managing circa $1.5B of spend annually.

Role Objective

Supporting the Technology Sourcing team in the delivery and management of procurement activities may include the following activities:

  • Senior member of the Alliances Supplier Ecosystem Services team aligned with one or alliance accounts.

  • Act as a senior strategic leader/contributor and and trusted business advisor - managing complex transactions directly or indirectly and working closely with senior stakeholders to deliver successful results

  • Working closely with risk management business partners to minimize contractual risks to the firm whilst demonstrating year on year improvement in value for money

  • Partnering with GCO (legal) to lead key negotiations and reporting on the quantitative and brand value delivered

  • Effectively build a pipeline of deals and develop the appropriate resourcing plans

  • Supporting improvement in processes, policy, systems, management information and reporting

  • Successfully leading negotiations for global and regional deals meeting the timelines, scope, and requirements agreed with key stakeholders

  • Working with senior EYT and Service Line stakeholders to help develop a category strategy which supports the overall global technology strategy

Supporting the Supplier Ecosystem Services team and the broader Technology Sourcing team in the delivery and management of procurement activities may include the following activities:

  • Manage full lifecycle of contracts for assigned programs of work and key suppliers

  • Pro-actively manage contract and license renewals

  • Build and foster collaborative working relationships with EYT and other internal business partners

  • Supporting and leading stakeholders through the Acquisition of Technology Goods and Services end- to-end process.

  • Socialization and facilitation of the Procurement policy and processes, ensuring that the project teams and stakeholders understand the value of the policy and adhere to it accordingly

  • Timely and frequent submission of management information, including project status and savings reporting

  • Support for the Client Technology Sourcing team in developing a strategy which adheres to the overall global technology strategy while supporting local engagements as well

  • Facilitation of any needed market research to identify potential suppliers, ensure competitive pricing and terms, etc.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Experience with negotiating contracts related to professional services (development, testing, and support) and software licensing & rationalization

  • Strong experience with senior stakeholder management with the ability to collaboratively co-develop strategies and set and manage expectations.

  • Experience with negotiating contracts globally and regionally.

  • Experience of managing complex service agreements both from the commercial and service delivery side

  • Experience of working in a Sourcing/Procurement/Vendor Management team in a complex and global environment

  • Experience working in an IT role as part of delivering technology solutions is a plus

  • Strong influencing and networking skills as the organization relies on working in cross functional teams across borders

  • Good knowledge of the IT vendors and new technologies is important to successfully work with the EYT teams

  • Strong communication skills required; must have the ability communicate in English effectively, transparently, and timely across multiple mediums (email, voice, IM, etc) in a global environment

  • The ability to independently manage and prioritize workload

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and have an appetite for change

  • Provide high level of Exceptional Client Service


  • Business degree or equivalent is preferred

  • CPM (US), CIPS (UK) or similar Procurement certification is welcomed but not essential

Other requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 - 15 years experience in a strategic sourcing role

  • Team Leadership experience desired

  • Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills in business English

  • Expert proficiency in English (written and verbal)

  • Experience working on a virtual team; global exposure a plus

  • Experience working within a partnerhip and/or a global service delivery organization a plus

  • Alternatively, technology or business operations experience may be considered in lieu of some, or potentially all, of the sourcing experience for the right candidate.

  • Experience negotiating for multiple Service delivery models (Platform as a Service, Software as a Service, Infrastructure as a Service, etc)

  • Experience of stakeholder management at CTO or CIO level in their current or previous role

  • Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills in business English

  • Experience working in a truly global, culturally diverse organization

  • Advanced knowledge of Project, PowerPoint, and Excel

  • Flexibility to work UK/US hours

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $125,900 to $235,500. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $151,100 to $267,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
