Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for processing and coordinating daily room change requests. Requires collaboration with Residence Life, Auxiliary Facilities and Facilities Management Services.

  • Assist with data entry and communications related to Spring Semester and Summer Term housing assignments.

  • Collaborate with Auxiliary Facilities, Facilities Management Services and Residence Life for Room Turnover Process - inspections, cleaning, access, furniture and special projects.

  • Assist with the under-occupied process by creating space lists and reviewing space closures & notes.

  • Manage the processes related to Early Arrival and Late Departure requests.

  • Identify and market available housing vacancies to generate revenue. Utilize website, email and social media strategies.

  • Manage the Double-as-Single Initiative to generate revenue while providing an enhanced customer experience.

  • Create detailed occupancy and assignment reports.

  • Manage NTID Apartment assignments.

  • Apply Mass Billing notes for specialty groups including but not limited to ADA, Doubles as Singles, Global Scholars.

  • RIT Service Center license holder to resolve tickets related to relevant work providing excellent customer service.

  • OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

Required Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience

  • Two or more years experience working in a fast-paced collegiate environment, auxiliary setting or equivalent business

  • Proven excellent professional and customer service experience in an office or service environment.

  • Previous experience with data entry and/or work with technology systems.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Ability to work well with people and to handle conflict situations

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proven experience using technology and common software – MS Office Suite

  • Good organization skills

  • Administrative, task management and time management skills

  • Ability to work under strict deadlines

  • Must be able to work autonomously with minimal supervision

  • Detail oriented with ability to effectively handle multiple and changing priorities

Job Summary:

RIT Housing houses over 6,500 students annually in a variety of housing types through comprehensive processes and procedures. The Assignment Assistant reports to the Senior Assignment Coordinator of RIT Housing and is responsible for providing support to the RIT Housing assignment team with various clerical functions and project based work.

Please note: Some weekend and evening hours required throughout the year.
