Job Description Summary
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is seeking applicants interested in joining the speech-language pathology faculty at the rank of Assistant Professor. This is a tenure-track, nine-month full-time position beginning Fall 2025.
Responsibilities include: undergraduate and/or graduate teaching; clinical supervision; mentoring and advising undergraduate and graduate students; engagement in service at the University, College, and Departmental levels; and pursuit of creative and scholarly work, with an emphasis on community engagement and student involvement. Summer teaching is strongly encouraged.
The Nazareth CSD Department comprises undergraduate and graduate programs, with graduate specialties in autism, deafness, early intervention, and medical speech-language pathology. Graduate students can also earn the New York State Teacher of Students with Disabilities ( TSSLD ) certificate and Bilingual Education (Spanish) extension. The department has 220+ students (88 graduate students) and 13 FT faculty. Interprofessional collaboration and education are hallmarks of Nazareth University. Our on-campus clinics are located in the state-of-the-art York Wellness and Rehabilitation Institute, a facility that also houses physical therapy, occupational therapy, social work, and creative arts therapy clinics, in addition to our own Speech and Language Clinic, Neurogenic Communication and Cognition Clinic, and Audiology Clinic. Our many active on- and off-campus clinics provide opportunities for clinical supervision and clinically applied research endeavors.

Essential Functions
Required Education, Experience, Technology and Skills
Ph.D. or Ed.D. ( ABD considered) in communication sciences and disorders or related
fields.
Preferred Education, Experience, Technology Applications and Skills
Eligibility for New York State licensure and ASHA CCC - SLP
This position is replacing a retiring faculty with expertise in adult language
disorders, but all areas of specialization will be considered. Prior experience with
teaching and/or supervision is highly valued.
