The Medicine in Psychiatry Services of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry invites applications for a full-time Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician to serve as hospitalist- primary care provider for individuals with severe mental illnesses. The positon can carry a faculty rank of Assistant Professor or above based on clinical experience or expertise. We are recruiting for a candidate with outstanding clinical and Supervisory skills to join our Medicine in Psychiatry Services team and help deliver quality care to patients with severe mental illnesses both as primary care provider and hospitalist as per responsibilities outlined. Clinical responsibilities at each site are negotiable and depend on current service needs. The physician will be based primarily at the University Of Rochester and will be part of the department of Medicine / Family Medicine, depending on postgraduate training, and Psychiatry. The successful candidate is expected to provide direct clinical care to severely mentally ill patients at both of our unique and dedicated inpatient and outpatient sites.
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
Board certified/ board eligible in Internal Medicine /Family Medicine
Active or eligible for NYS license
Active DEA certification
