Detailed Job Description:
Monday - Friday
10:30 AM-7:00 PM
Additionally, flexible scheduling/work hours may be required during break week, summer and intersession. In addition, large institute events may require additional hours (such as commencement (graduation) and Imagine RIT Festival).
Responsible to all customers and co-workers to provide excellent service in a friendly, sincere and courteous manner.
Set up and work in Cashier station.
Set up food platforms for service
Oversee, instruct student employees while working side by side with them.
Run register with attention to accuracy and high standard of professionalism
Help with training of student workers, mainly cashiering and front end service, but not exclusively
Help overall quality of service by problem solving and by communicating items such as variances from standards or customer concerns with appropriate team members and customers in a professional and courteous manner.
Responsible for cleanliness of work areas maintaining proper sanitation and safety procedures
Carry out additional duties and special assignments as requested by managers and supervisors.
Help with restocking of front end, ie cups, silverware, etc..
Adhere to all compliance, safety and health regulations
Report to work on time , wear proper uniform and adhere to dining services and RIT polices

Required Minimum Qualifications:
2 - 3 years of cashiering in a fast pace environment and/or 2 - 3 years of high volume food service experience
Serve Safe qualifications or ability to earn in 6 months of employment
The successful candidate will be joining the Global Cantina & Grille and Global Village Market team. These operations are located in the Global Village Plaza on RIT's campus. The Cantina serves approximately 1500 - 2000 customers and the Global Market serve about 350 -400 customers per day, making them very busy locations. Therefore we are in need of a reliable, energetic and engaging person to help us serve our customers in a legendary way. We are looking for someone who thrives in a busy environment and enjoys being a part of a hard working team.
About RIT Dining
RIT Dining supports all meal plans both on campus and at select off campus locations. We are looking for a high energy team member that enjoys working in a busy environment serving customers. The successful candidate will need to be able to work with a diverse student work force which may include of deaf / hard of hearing, and internationals students. Hours would change for breaks, intersession and summer semester. This position may support serving from 1500 to over 3000 customers (faculty, staff and students) in any one location on a daily basis.
