Conifer’s summer internship kicks off on June 5th with a special two-day event for all our interns in the Northeast, located at our Corporate Offices in Rochester NY. Our orientation will provide our summer interns with exposure and engagement to our various corporate functions and departments, as well as professional development training to enhance the summer internship experience.

OVERVIEW

The Property Management Intern will be responsible for administrative and organizational support for the Property Management teams within the region they are working. With the focus on supporting the communities, leasing, community managers, and regional managers. In addition to administrative support the intern will obtain new property management responsibilities in areas as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Assist with marketing apartments through various digital advertising platforms and regular community outreach.

  • Create and execute resident retention events and new prospect events to help drive traffic to the property.

  • Assist with maintaining property social media pages.

  • Work closely with resident prospects – provide apartment tours.

  • Work with maintenance team to communicate daily work orders, turn over instruction and regular property maintenance.

  • Collect rents and handle delinquent accounts in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Ensure complete implementation and compliance with Tax Credit/DHCR/Section 8, and any other pertinent housing program requirements and directives as appropriate.

  • Receive and assist with processing residents’ service requests.

  • Perform clerical functions, data entry, organizing all filing, other tasks as needed.

  • Adhere to all appropriate Company accounting directives.

  • Prepare all reports as required and directed and meet required deadlines.

  • Greet and screen incoming visitors in a professional manner and promptly notify appropriate person of visitor’s arrival.

  • Compose, prepare, and proofread correspondence, office memos and reports on computer and maintain confidentiality when required.

  • Design and implement forms by applying knowledge of software applications for use within office and update as needed.

  • Provide excellent service to Residents, Contractors, Applicants, Customers, Visitors.

  • Create when needed and maintain proper response letters for various incoming correspondences.

  • Maintain files in an organized and accessible manner to include updating information, scanning cash receipts and other key documents on daily basis as required,purging files on a regular basis, and creating new filing systems as needed.

EDUCATION/TRAINING

  • Minimum High School Diploma/GED Equivalent required.

  • Currently enrolled college student, majoring in Real Estate and or Business-related field preferred.

EXPERIENCE

  • Prior 1-2 years Real Estate, administrative support experience helpful or college work experience in Real Estate department along with college coursework considered.

  • Entry level MS Word, Excel, Outlook skills.

  • Strong customer service skills to support team, departments, apartment community teams.

  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking tasks.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality on all aspects of work projects.

SKILLS

  • Detailed-oriented; strong proofreading skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Effective customer service skills for interacting with employees at all levels throughout the company

  • Business professional with good business judgment

  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated time management skills

  • Likes to work independently as well as support a team

  • Flexibility to shift projects quickly and multi-task

  • Effective at problem solving and thinking outside the box

  • Resourceful with good research skills

  • Eager to learn several functional areas of Property Management

The hourly range for this position is $18.00 for an Undergraduate Candidate and $22.00-25.00 for a Graduate Candidate The actual compensation may vary depending on a wide range of factors, including experience, skills, qualifications, certifications, location, etc. This range also does not include additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
