Director of Financial Reporting for Property Management and Real Estate Development
Summary Purpose for the Position
To oversee PathStone’s property management (PM) and real estate development (RED) financial operations. This includes planning, financial analysis, RED financing, and cash management. Responsible for staff supervision and development. Monitors pre-development and development accounting practices and is involved in project cost certifications, budget preparation, and compliance evaluations.
Requirements (Education, Experience, Certification, Knowledge, Skill)
Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, and at least 3+ years of demonstrated financial experience with exposure to affordable housing development and construction accounting.
Demonstrated experience in successful completion of low income housing tax credit audits and cost certifications.
Director of Financial Reporting must possess the ability to utilize theories and principles from a variety of sources to develop and maintain a comprehensive financial management system for both PM and RED.
Knowledge areas include advanced accounting principles, auditing, financial analysis, business management, cash management, internal controls, and software and program compliance as well as RED accounting practices for affordable housing developments.
Able to manage, monitor, and develop talent.
Skilled in Microsoft Office products and the YARDI software system.
Position Responsibilities
Position requires negotiating loan terms, maintaining banking relationships, communication with lenders, partners and funding sources.
Supervises a high volume team seasonally.
Works closely with CFO, asset management team, and Senior VP’s of PM and RED to provide written and verbal interpretations of financial results.
Ensures financial integrity of the PM & RED programs including all developments.
Responsible for compliance with all funding regulations and guidelines required by regulatory agencies, lenders, investors, syndicators and general partners.
Prepares and presents financial information to RED lenders, underwriters, syndicators, general partners, and others.
Responsible for financial organization and operation of affiliate corporations. This includes reporting to boards, committees, and other groups on a regular basis.
Promotes operational growth and identifies trends to improve operations. Prepates budgets for future developments.
Might have to travel for conferences.
