Description

University of Rochester Department of Psychiatry has an opportunity for psychiatrists interested in developing a career in Acute Psychiatry and teaching as an adult inpatient psychiatrist to join the energetic and dedicated interdisciplinary team in the pursuit of clinical and academic excellence.

This full-time position includes an academic appointment with University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry at the rank of senior instructor, assistant or associate professor, commensurate with experience and accomplishments, and ample opportunities for faculty development within a robust tradition of mentorship. Teaching and clinical supervision of psychiatric residents and fellows, medical students and other trainees is an integral part of this position. Our adult inpatient service includes 56 beds (will be 66 beds in June 2025) and a very collaborative and interdisciplinary team of psychiatrists, trainees, psychologists, social workers, APP’s, RN's, psychiatric pharmacologist, and chemical dependency counselor.

Compensation includes an excellent, nationally competitive base salary with bonus/moonlighting opportunities, loan forgiveness program, annual CME allotment, and generous benefits package through the University including retirement program and tuition benefits.

Senior Instructor: $209,000 - $260,264

Assistant Professor: $221,350 - $287,611

Associate Professor: $243,200 - $315,271

Qualifications

Requirements/Qualifications:

· Must possess an MD or equivalent degree and be ABPN board certified (or board eligible)

· Must obtain NYS physician licensure prior to start

· Must have an unrestricted DEA prior to start

· Hiring will require a pre-hire clearance appointment completed in Rochester, NY at least three weeks prior to start

The referenced pay range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the base range of compensation for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range and established based on (but not limited to) market data, experience and expertise of the individual, and with consideration to related position salaries. Alignment of clinical incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
