In addition to the assigned projects, Interns are given the opportunity to participate in activities that encourage networking with peers, managers, and employees.Job Summary: The Finance Intern provides meaningful support primarily for the Global Internal Controls team, with the potential to interface cross-functionally and directly with the General Accounting, A/P, A/R and Payroll US Shared Services team. There is a potential for a rotational series and special projects. In addition, soft skills development and networking opportunities provide a well-rounded experience. At the conclusion of the program, interns share through a formal presentation to senior corporate leadership the impact they made.Essential Functions & Accountabilities: - Assist with streamlining of processes, exploring reporting solutions and driving improvements using MS Excel, Visio and/or other business intelligence tools- Collects and analyzes data and information effectively- Supports ongoing initiatives which include but are not limited to system implementations (Workiva), data cleansing, standardization, linking and mapping of control fields, etc.- Adapts to and uses technology to improve the effectiveness of assignments, increase efficiencies, and quickly complete work objectives.- Opportunity for experience with month-end close responsibilities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, etc. if a need exists and time permits- Other duties/projects, as assignedCooperVisions management team is committed to the development of and implementation of the quality management system and maintaining its effectiveness by communicating to the organization the importance of meeting customer as well as statutory andregulatory requirements.QualificationsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities: *- Intermediate/Advanced skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)- Experience with Visio is preferred- Well organized with attention to detail- Excellent project management, organizational, and follow-through skills- Ability to manage competing priorities/projects independently with minimal supervision- Strong oral and written communication as well as interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate with diverse populations- Professional demeanorWork Environment: - Professional office setting with business casual attire- Hybrid, in office approach (fully remote is not an option)Experience: Not required, but prior internship experience is a plus.Education: **- Current college student (only those who will still be enrolled in an undergrad/grad program in Fall 2021), majoring in Accounting/Finance, entering at least their sophomore year in an undergraduate program- Have completed core coursework in Accounting/Finance and Technology (e.g. Excel, Tableau, etc.)- Minimum GPA is 3.2 Equal Opportunity Employer - minorities/females/veterans/individuals with disabilities/sexual orientation/gender identity
