The opportunity

Note: This role can be recruited at Senior Manager or Manager rank depending on candidate's skills and qualifications.

The Global Audit Methodology and Enablement (M&E) team is charged with driving global Audit Quality initiatives to ensure audit and assurance engagement quality is the single most important dimension for decision-making, the professional responsibility we hold each other accountable for and the key measure that our reputation stands. Within M&E, the Enablement sub-team aims to enhance engagement quality through the development, implementation, and maintenance of Global Assurance enablement.

Your key responsibilities

This role is responsible for collaborating with members of M&E to develop and revise the EY assurance enablement relevant to the execution of an EY assurance engagement, primarily the enablement delivered to and through EY Canvas. In addition, the role assists Area/Country Professional Practice and Content Management Groups and those in a quality role for their service line in the development of EY Canvas enablement for their country and/or service line.

The role will also work closely with the Enablement Deployment Leader on various Neon initiatives, converting concepts to implemented solutions.

Due to the amount of interaction needed with the M&E team and Enablement Deployment Leader, the role must be in a time zone within 6 hours of US EST. Willingness to work virtually, travel globally and to work extended hours to meet the responsibilities of the role are essential.

Skills and attributes for success

This role manages and supports a complex portfolio of projects that require the ability to create and implement timelines related to project deliverables and manage expectations of the outcome of the deliverable.

To make that happen, this role includes applying an existing robust understanding and knowledge of the firm’s technologies, business, audit methodology, and policies, organizational structure, and operations to effectively develop globally suitable enablement.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Recent Assurance and/or audit client-serving experience

  • In-depth understanding of EY Canvas functionality and content (e.g., Canvas tasks and forms)

  • Interest in use of technology to improve firmwide execution of audits

  • Ability to understand concepts and business requirements to develop and implement solutions

  • Ability to clearly present solutions to stakeholders

  • High attention to detail and capable of complex logical thinking to develop and test enablement solutions to be delivered via EY Canvas

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, a related discipline or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience years of assurance engagement experience (including at least one year as a manager) at a recognized public accounting firm

  • CPA or CA (or similar credential)

What we look for

To assist in determining appropriate enablement strategies in EY Canvas (e.g., tasks, forms, features) based on experiences as an assurance practitioner. Assist in writing communications to explain updates in enablement. Display leadership skills that facilitate managing complex projects with cross-team resources and to coordinate the implementation of the proposals.

The compensation ranges below are provided in order to comply with United States pay transparency laws. Other geographies will follow their local salary guidelines, which may not be a direct conversion of published US salary range/s.

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $98,900 to $225,800. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $118,700 to $256,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
