Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervise two Graduate Head Residents (who in-turn supervise 28 RAs.) Weekly GHR supervision meetings, consultation, email communication, performance review

  • Serve as first-line student conduct officer for residents of the First-Year Quad. Work in coordination with the Office of the Dean of Students Center for Student Conflict Management

  • Respond to student needs related to RA reports and CARE referrals including roommate and campus living concerns. Serve as a resource connecting undergraduates in the First-Year Quad to student services offices on campus such as the University Counseling Center, the College Center for Advising Services, Office of the Dean of Students, Basic Needs Hub, International Engagement, Office of Minority Student Affairs, etc.

  • Assist with the daily operation and management of the First-Year Quad Area Office in all areas related to Gilbert, Hoeing and Tiernan Halls, including Residential Life Facilities, Environmental Health & Safety, occupancy management, communication with RAs, GHRs, and student office assistants. Respond to email and calls related to concerns from resident students and their parents

  • Monitor area budget lines including office supplies, RA programming, printing and Leadership Ambassador expenses

  • Oversee end of the year closing for the First-Year Quad, including communication to students regarding check-out. Working along with the Area Secretary, manage key returns, damage inspections and student damage billing processes

  • Co-Instruct CAS 351, Leadership in the College Community (a five-week, one credit course for candidates to the RA position) Includes preparation of weekly course materials, participation in a 6-hour "conference day," assessment and evaluation of student performance in class

  • Co advise the D'Lion Organization in conjunction with the Area Coordinator for the First-Year Hill, with particular focus on administrative processes related to 2022-2023 D'Lion selection

  • Attendance at weekly staff meetings and relevant committee meetings

  • Summer assignments and plan for transition to returning Area Coordinator to be detailed

    Requirements:

    Masters + 2-4 years of professional experience, preferably in a higher education setting.

    Schedule: 3 days/week onsite 9:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. (30 minute lunch) + 4 hours/week remote (25 hours/week total, with the opportunity to schedule an additional 4 hours/week on site as needed)
