JOB TITLE: Maintenance Technician Intern

DEPARTMENT: Machine Maintenance

As a result of hands-on training provided by our Maintenance staff, successful candidates will be eligible to pursue our Maintenance Technician position after graduating and meeting required criteria. This opportunity will build upon your related education, fostering development of fundamental skills, tools and practices while working alongside mentor(s) in a fast-paced secondary packaging environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1.Complies with all regulations and governing bodies (FDA, ISO, OSHA, etc.).

a.Exhibits complete and sound understanding of all applicable policies/procedures; immediately inquires if unsure.

2.Shadows and observes mentor(s).

a.Mutually answer service calls on high-speed packaging machinery.

b.Troubleshoot, repair and/or escalate issues.

c.Mutually perform preventative maintenance (PM) on machinery.

3.May assist in process improvement or other ad hoc projects as assigned.

4.As business needs dictate, works scheduled holidays in order to maintain service levels for customers.

5.As business needs dictate, works extended hours to complete daily department goals or tasks.

6.Works scheduled hours and is ready to work at scheduled start times, notifies supervisor prior to absence or tardiness in accordance with company policy.

7.Immediately informs leadership of safety, sanitation and equipment malfunctions and concerns regarding quality issues.

8.Adheres to Standard Operating Procedures and Regulatory requirements.

9.As business needs dictate, works extended hours to complete daily department goals or tasks to include mandatory overtime.

SCOPE

Shadows and observes appointed Maintenance Technician during daily operations, mutually assisting in PM/troubleshooting/repair of machinery within our Packaging Operations.

/EXPERIENCE/

•Previous employment history a plus; participation in school and/or extracurricular activities/ experience in leadership positions also considered.

/EDUCATION/

•High School Diploma or GED required.

•Enrollment in an accredited, related degree/certificate program required (mechanical, industrial, manufacturing engineering, or similar) with a GPA of 2.75 or higher.

•Vo-tech/BOCES a plus.
