Job Responsibilities:

  • Works with Associate Provost for International Education, Director of Education Abroad, and Director of Global Programs and International Partnerships to set short and long-term programmatic, enrollment, and revenue goals.

  • Partners with RIT colleges and departments to determine programmatic needs and support creative discipline-based short-term, one-semester, and summer curriculum development. In partnership with other university stakeholders, creates and manages revenue-generating globally-focused summer programs for in-bound students including management of the applications, coordination of the visa process as necessary, billing and registration process, and development and execution of co-curricular activities. Hires, trains, and manages any supporting staff such as student employees.

  • Coordinates with college and RIT Global office marketing and communication staff to support program recruitment as well as social media and other coverage throughout program delivery.

  • Conducts program orientations for Rochester campus-based programs to ensure required information is included and optimal group experience on the RIT campus.

  • Develops positive and effective relationships with schools, academic departments, housing, dining, registrar, international students services, and others across departments in order to ensure an optimal experience for all program participants.

  • Contracts with vendors to provide services including but not limited to, transportation, catering, AV equipment/support, program materials, conference rooms, class rooms, housing, special dinners, and other functions.

  • Support RIT Global leadership in strategically identifying U.S.-based institutions as potential partners to send their students to experiential learning opportunities at RIT’s global campuses. Develop related agreements and manage communication.

  • Provide the highest level of customer service to participants, partners, and vendors.

  • Assess, bring creative solutions/ideas, and adjust programming and processes to ensure high quality, revenue-positive, competitive programs.

Required Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience

  • 3-5 years’ experience in overseeing and/or coordinating student-focused programming.

Skills:

  • Ability to envision, create, and execute plans to deliver high quality programs. Ability to assess and perform quality improvement.

  • Ability to effectively collaborate and partner with leaders, faculty, and staff across the university to create and implement best practice programming.

  • Experience reviewing, drafting, and/or modifying contractual documents (e.g., grants and agreements)

  • Superior written and oral communication skills; strong interpersonal and cultural competency skills.

  • High level of organization, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously.

  • Familiarity with accounting practices and experience with program-level financial oversight.

  • Strong computer skills in MS Office Suite

  • Strong project management skills

  • Mature judgement and creative problem solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced degree (MBA, MS)

Department/College Description:

We are a team of faculty and staff who strive to support and advance the university in its international education initiatives. The office staff provides support to students, faculty and staff interested in an international experience, including study abroad, exchange programs, international fellowships, and the RIT Global Campuses. RIT Global is led by Dr. James Myers, Associate Provost for International Education and Global Programs. The office works closely with the administration and faculty in all nine colleges to achieve RIT’s goal of internationalizing the campus through fostering culture knowledge and competencies, providing global experiential opportunities, expanding RIT’s education abroad and engaging in international research.

Job Summary:

Please note: This is a One Year temporary position with anticipated end date of May 1, 2025.

The Program Administrator is responsible for developing new and managing existing revenue-generating student mobility programs such as RIT Study Away, Summer Programs for in-bound students from our global campuses and international partners, and expanding partnerships with U.S. institutions to send their students to RIT global campuses. In collaboration with the Office of International Education and Global Programs leadership along with the academic colleges, the Program Administrator will develop discipline-based programming and experiential opportunities including a strategic focus on inclusion and recruitment of students from the RIT global campuses and international partners. Program management and development will include facilitating contracts, budget creation, managing program logistics such as application and visa process and developing communication strategies.
