Note:

During the semester the approximate hourly commitment is 4-5 hours/week for each assigned section.

With your assigned section of 25 students:

  • Co-facilitate a dialogue process through a Plan-Do-Reflect experiential learning cycle for 14 class meeting weeks

  • Participate in active learning experiences hosted by campus partners

  • Attend, participate, and co-facilitate a community building session during the week prior to the start of classes

  • Provide one-on-one ½ hour coaching sessions

  • Attend 2 days of training or the equivalent (16 hours) prior to the start of Fall semester classes (You will be notified of the timeline during the interview and hiring process)

  • Attend required 1-hour team meetings every other week during the fall semester

  • Provide support as needed to execute experiential activities within the course

  • Meet weekly with your Co-Facilitator to coordinate shared facilitation and administrative duties

  • Timely completion of administrative duties including completing coaching appointment notes, grading, early alert reporting and other administrative communications

  • Applicants who are currently RIT employees must be exempt employees

Successful applicants should expect to attend a full day of virtual and synchronous training during the Spring/Summer and complete virtual asynchronous training before classes begin. They should also reserve the following dates

  • August 21st for an in-person community building session with their class and some brief in person training and August 22nd for in-person training

  • August 22nd for in-person training on campus.

Anticipated Pay:

$1860 for 1 section

$3145 for 2 sections

The mission of Year One Programs is to immerse incoming RIT students into their campus culture to develop self-awareness, make connections, and integrate into their RIT community. Student in the RIT365 course participate in experiential learning opportunities designed to launch them into their career at RIT, support them in making multiple and varied connections across the university, and immerse them in processes of competency development. Students will plan for and reflect on their first-year experiences, receive feedback, and develop a personal plan for future action in order to develop foundational self-awareness and recognize broad-based professional competencies.
