Oracle Security & Compliance - Technical Program Manager in Rochester, New York

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

_Position Overview_

We are looking for a seasoned Principal Technical Program manager (TPM) with a strong customer, engineering, security and Compliance background to join our efforts in supporting Oracle s Analytics organization and external customers to the Oracle cloud. The Oracle Analytics Cloud Security and Compliance organization is responsible for securing enterprise-grade software services on behalf of our customers, including Oracle itself. As a Principal Technical Program Manager, you will work with enterprise constituents across Oracle s lines of business to learn, educate, advise and participate in Security and Compliance requirements and drive back into Oracle Analytic organization.

Participate in customer engagements leveraging your security and Compliance expertise.

Translate new customer requirements and feedback into technical requirements and long-term product strategy.

Define and pursue automation and integration opportunities.

Work closely with engineering teams to develop, maintain and execute a related roadmap round Security and Compliance.

You will be working across a hybrid team that understands our business and its objectives, to lead us through Security and Compliance planning and designing technical solutions to solve the business s problems in a very agile, fast-paced, and collaborative environment. The position relies heavily on influence to drive project deliverables.

The successful candidate must have exceptional PM and engineering experience in Security and Compliance, problem-solving skills, strong business judgment, and notable experience collaborating in cross-functional teams with a focus on large corporate and enterprise customers.

We are looking for a self-starter technical leader with a proven ability to execute both strategically and tactically, and someone who is excited to take on new projects. This position requires a solid technical security background, and the candidate should be customer-focused with a passion for the cloud and adoption of Oracle technology. You will partner closely with peers, developers and the entire Oracle security community to create secure solutions to Oracle s internal business requirements while simultaneously evolving existing capabilities for our external customers. This position requires deep technical knowledge and hands on program leadership in managing innovative development and security implementation and across the Oracle corporate enterprise.

With your deep customer, technical PM, Security and Compliance experience, you will shape not only the future of cloud adoption at Oracle but influence the adoption of Oracle technology globally through delivery of referenceable, leading edge, secure solutions.

_Key Responsibilities_

You will work with teams across many of Oracle s lines of business (including but not limited to Product Development, Development Operations, Infrastructure, HR, Legal, and Finance) to deliver secure solutions for Oracle s business requirements, including:

Consulting on secure design and Compliance

Providing expertise concerning approved secure solutions, applicable standards and similar

Reviewing designs for compliance with corporate and line of business security policy and standards

You will work within the Oracle Analytics organization and with broader Oracle security and Compliance communities, including security architects in product development, corporate security architecture and Governance, Risk and compliance teams, to share knowledge, contribute to Oracle security and Compliance standards and disseminate information to encourage good security design and practices

You will partner closely with your peers in both Oracle Analytics and OCI engineering and operations to drive the right architecture, designs and deployment optimization to ensure our applications and services are secure (Security) by default and using the latest cloud security innovation, protocols and components to meet Compliance.

_Ideal Experience_

Product and/or cloud service software development experience over multiple release cycles or lifecycles.

Deep technical understanding of security and Compliance engineering, deployment, operation best practices and Audits.

Consulting and/or enterprise architecture background, able to quickly digest complex issues and provide meaningful guidance

Strong knowledge of Compliance Audits processes, drive audits to completion, , provide evidence and follow remediation and change

Ability to work independently, defining and managing one s own work while still providing transparency and accountability to management and other interested parties

Ability to work across and engage individuals and teams located across multiple geographies and or cultures.

Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and Development/Engineering individuals at all levels including the executive level.

Strong interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building.

Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands.

Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs with the ability to establish/maintain high level of customer trust and confidence.

_Preferred Education_

  • Degree in computer science or related field

  • 5-10 years experience in Program, Project Management, leading small to large Infrastructure, Online, or Cloud service implementations

  • 5-10 years experience in Security and Compliance services (Audits)

  • Possession of or willingness to obtain valid industry acknowledged PM, Security and Compliance certification.

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with all levels of management

  • Ability to apply independent and sound business judgement to solve complex issues

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision required and can lead cross-functional teams to complete projects and major initiatives using judgement, experience, and leadership skills

  • Concrete understanding of audit timelines, milestones, evidence, and other related deliverables

  • Understanding of the Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid development methodologies

  • Experience as a software Release Manager and Scrum Master

  • Ability to partner with internal operations, development, and Oracle corporate teams to ensure successful transition from delivery to operations

  • Ability to document, actively manage, and communicate technical project plans through dashboards, metrics, and presentations

  • Methodical approach to managing and troubleshooting complex problems

  • Proven experience achieving results in a cross functional DevOps environment

  • Demonstrated skills with task ticketing systems, such as Jira and BugDB

  • Analytical and technical aptitude with the ability to solve complex problems

  • Proven flexibility and versatility in learning new technologies and adapting to new methodologies during the project phase, training, and guiding teams
