Job Title: Computer Support Tech

Job Description: Deliver PC systems within five (5) business days after receipt of user systems from Automated Data Processing Equipment (ADPE) Equipment Custodian (EC). Coordinate and confirm installation date/time with user. Configure all systems with current AF Standard Desktop Configuration (SDC) image. System will be transported and located by ADPE EC and installation executed by CST. Ensure refresh rates are managed IAW the Government standard (Standard Desktops - 3 years; Printers & monitors - 4 years) or as directed by the Government.


  • Ensure all Time Compliance Network Order (TCNO)/Notice To Airmen (NOTAM) are properly applied to all systems within the specified suspense dates. Report completion of TCNO/NOTAM via the approved IA scanning tool. Configure, maintain and troubleshoot: Information Systems (IS), peripherals, communication devices, support various Operating Systems (O/S) client and server, and desktop application software. Install or assist with installation of client-based desktop software; and provide software application assistance for commonly used office automation applications.

  • Provide OS support to MAC OS X (MAC OsX) client. Maintain and optimize MAC OsX Computers with latest security and operating system updates. Provide support from initial staging to installation of new hardware, software and updates. Create and maintain new user accounts. Troubleshoot and resolve all network and display hardware and software issues. Research, propose and design solutions to system conflicts. [e.g., Common Access Cards (CAC) on MAC or Outlook Web Access (OWA) issues]. Integrate PCs with the MACs.


  • Report all security breaches to AFRL Cyber Security Office. Provide timely communication with customers and staff (updates, feedback, troubleshooting). Staging/De-staging (FFP): Provide support to accomplish the imaging of new and reuse devices for deployment within AFRL/RI. Ensure that all equipment scheduled for turn-in or disposal are sanitized IAW DOD and AF guidelines. Support ADPE custodian, image Government desktop, laptop, tablet computers for deployment with the AF SDC and specific customer software/application requirements.

  • Execute disposal and reuse procedures following TO 00-33B-5008 and local policy. Process in accordance with applicable procedures/instructions classified and/or unclassified systems.

  • Provides support in all areas of project requirements.

Certifications Required: Security+ or higher, Windows 10/11

Education: Bachelor-s degree, Education requirement may be waived for exceptionally qualified personnel.

Year-s Experience: 3 - 6 years of experience

Travel: 10%

Security Clearance Required: must have an ACTIVE Secret Security Clearance
