As member of Xylem’s IT Vendor Relationship Management team, the Product VRM is responsible for the implementation and execution of VRM practices to support a growing use of global IT related solutions within Xylem’s water technology offerings. This position will work across software, firmware, and product development teams to identify and evaluate IT based solutions which will be embedded into various Xylem product offerings in accordance with product road maps. The Product VRM will work with a cross functional team to ensure that appropriate contract clauses are included within Xylem’s customer facing contracts and requiring that Xylem has resale or embedded rights from the OEM as appropriate. He/She/They must possess the ability to learn and understand product roadmaps in order to assess near term and long-term vendor engagement plan and priorities based upon the business need, exercises oversite on vendor financial investments and total cost of ownership across Product families. Other vendor management activities would include but are not limited to contract management, governance and stewardship activities, risk management, vendor performance monitoring, data analytics/trends, problem resolution, invoicing/payment resolutions, external audit requests, coordinate with Legal to mediate disputes.
Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:
Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities
Work with the Business, Cybersecurity, Product and Systems teams, and Legal to identify the right model for contracting IT related components into new solutions, products, and modules. Develop, implement, and maintain product contractual strategies for the entire product portfolio covering IoT and Smart-device suites
Support the Xylem IT Product Security team with road mapping and planning their Product Security solution set offerings for Xylem Product and Systems teams, including any competitive analysis activities for new solutions and retirement of current solutions
High level of familiarity with IoT solutions, IT solutions which support Xylem products (AWS, Azure, SQL Server, etc.) and how to effectively review and negotiate with such providers.
Conduct complete vendor lifecycle management for a wide range of products, including embedded devices, enterprise software solutions, and mobile apps
Engage in application assessment and OEM specific contractual conversations as they apply to the reselling or embedded use of their product.
Provide guidance and leadership on best practices regarding contractual requirements, royalties, product support and product end of life.
Assist the Xylem IT Product Security team with obtaining any necessary documents or requirements tied to the OEM’s: testing, penetration testing, identified vulnerabilities in software and applications on all Xylem products.
Implement or manage the implementation of common Third-Party Intellectual Property (TPIP) controls.
Provide training and education to product developers on embedded software best practices, “blacklisted” software, contractual terms, pass through requirements, etc.
High level of operational support for all internal customers.
Primary partner to work alongside functional IT teams, Business Unit Product managers, Legal and Procurement colleagues to assist with the development of OEM contracts, Customer Contracts, SOWs, RFIs, RFQs and RFPs.
Ensure that vendors are either meeting or exceeding their contractual obligations by delivering quality solutions/services in accordance with the agreed upon SLAs.
Assist with adherence to VRM Director identified objectives, procedures, templates and workflow processes for vendor contracts and deliverable schedules. Utilize Legal playbooks as prescribed by Legal and VRM leaders.
Oversee daily operational requirements at a vendor level which could include but is not limited to invoice payments, goods receipt, and timely contract renewals.
Effectively communicate a clear and concise overview of vendors (summary of contract terms, risks, opportunities, and service delivery guidelines/issues) to key stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree from four-year accredited university required.
5+ years' experience in IT solutions within product offerings, Third Party Intellectual Property (TPIP), negotiating, strategy development and managing contracts for the previously mentioned scenarios.
Multi-lingual capabilities are preferred, but not required. English is required
Ability to build credibility and a high level of trust with various levels of management and internal/external stakeholders. Support product line objectives, influence key stakeholders and jointly develop strategic contract and vendor strategies.
Ability to apply sound business judgment and strategic guidance to manage in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
Understand the contract risk profile and overall business risk, business deadlines, and customer negotiation disposition.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Must be experienced with Microsoft suite of products.
Understanding of product security methodologies (SAST, SCA, DAST, etc.)
IoT network technologies (such as Bluetooth/BLE, WLAN, Z-Wave, Zigbee, identity/auth security)
Experience with wireless technologies such as CDMA, E-HRPD, GSM, UMTS, TDS-CDMA, LTE-FDD / LTE-TDD, and 5Gexperience with Android RIL, Telephony, C and Embedded RTOS.
Experience in managing product related contracts in an organization with a wide array of stakeholders across multiple competencies.
Strong negotiation, influencing and problem resolution skills
Experience with vendor management life cycle activities
Project management skills
Effective sourcing techniques for IT based solutions
Seasoned in handling conflict resolution while creating win/win situations
Understand relevant market trends and how those can impact Xylem product roadmaps and solutions
