General Description

SUNY Niagara is seeking Camp Counselors/Tutors to assist campers who are enrolled in the P- TECH summer camp. This is a camp for rising Niagara Falls High School 9th graders enrolled in the P- TECH (Pathways in Technology Early College High School), which is a fully funded grant opportunity that provides a pathway to college and careers in Mechanical Technology, Mechanical Design.

Successful Camp Counselors/Tutors should be strong in math and/or have the ability to assist P- TECH students build a STEM project. Current NCCC students enrolled in MET , CADD , Industrial Processing, Engineering, and LAMS would be preferred. Other related majors will also be considered.

The camp runs for 2 weeks, Monday – Friday, from 8:30am to 3pm, July 15th -26th, at Niagara Falls High School. Shorter work hours are available.

Must be able to navigate relationships with members of diverse populations; Must be able to operate computers; must be able to communicate verbally and in writing; must be able to physically perform the functions of the position.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have strong math skills.

  • Either currently enrolled in or have an Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Computer Aided Drafting & Design, Industrial Processing, Engineering, or Liberal Arts and Mathematics and Science LAMS . Other related majors may be considered.

    Desirable Qualifications

Current or former SUNY Niagara (Niagara County Community College) student.
