ADIRONDACK COMMUNITY ACTION PROGRAM Head Start Classroom Aide in Saranac Lake, New York
Applicants must be 18 years of age, possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience with pre-school children would be helpful. This is a 40 hour a week position that follows the school calendar. This job has full benefits, including medical, dental, vision, retirement, vacation, and paid leave. Responsibilities: Ensure program compliance of HHS Performance Standards and NYS Day Care regulations. Establish effective partnerships and collaborations with parents and staff. Maintain regular contact with Bus Driver/Classroom Aides and act as their resource person. Contribute to the planning and implementing of classroom activities. Assist with the supervision of children. Help maintain he cleanliness and order of the classroom. Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and children's Individual Plan meetings. Support Head Start philosophy. This position is in Saranac Lake, NY Assists the Teacher to insure the classroom maintains compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and NY State Daycare Regulations. Responsive to individual strengths, needs, and interests of the children. Interacts with the children in a friendly manner to promote the daily lesson plans and activities. Assists the teacher in preparing, organizing, and implementing the daily lesson plans and activities. Provides information about the child and shares such information with the teacher for specific observations, screenings, assessments, and IEP's. Plans with the teacher for activities that supports community volunteerism for all service areas of the program. Upholds all program policies and supports them with the parents and the community. Compensation: This is a full-time position that works 40 hours per week with a rate of pay of $12.88/hr. with benefits. This position follows the school calendar with 7-8 week summer layoff.
