ACTIVITIES ASSISTANT at Woodlawn Commons
Monday and Wednesday 12pm - 8pm (15 hours per week)
* Pay rate starting at $18/hour * (based on experience and shift differentials)

What will I do as an Activities Assistant for The Wesley Community?
Demonstrates high level skill in planning appropriate and creative activity programs.
Designs, develops, delivers, and communicates the goals of a comprehensive activities program including social, enrichment, excursions, cultural, wellness, and faith-based programs.
Develops programs that maximize resident participation and motivate residents to take advantage of program offerings.
Conducts lifestyle programming interviews and incorporates information into the development of program activities.
Educate and work with department staff and volunteers to ensure that residents are assisted to activities in accordance with daily schedule as established by resident choice and/or in conjunction with service plan.
Help coordinate in-house special events open to families and friends, e.g., special parties, holiday meals, open house, etc.
Decorate facility with monthly and/or seasonal theme in mind.
Assist in providing library service for residents through cooperation with local library.
Maintain recreational areas such as facility country store, library, arts and crafts room, garden plot, etc. as needed.
Perform any other duties as determined by the Director of Independent Living.
Must be able to work your scheduled shifts.
Drive Woodlawn's bus/van to and from activities.
Activities Assistant Requirements :
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Must be 21 years old or older.
A college degree desired, but certification or experience may substitute for degree.
Must have a clean, valid driver's license.
At least six (6) months experience in providing activities in a setting for the elderly or equivalent experience.
