Collins Companies, Pallette Stone Corp. is seeking a reliable individual for a full-time permanent position as an Asphalt Plant Operator .

Upon acceptance of offer, we will coordinate new hire paperwork and pre-employment substance abuse screening (Drug Free Employer).

Responsibilities Will Include But Are Not Limited To:

• Report directly to the site superintendent communicating production requirements and maintenance needs

• Full time position with overtime required during the peak season

• Continually communicate with customers and coworkers to ensure awareness of any changes in operations, possible break downs or delays

• Coordinate with Trucking Manager with regards to asphalt schedule for trucks, tons, times and plant locations for given jobs

• Operate plant according to production schedule using appropriate materials

• Monitor asphalt operation to ensure quality mix

• Perform a wide range of duties within an Asphalt Plant

• Assist in plant maintenance and in compiling reports regarding plant production and maintenance

• Follow all company policies along with OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment

• Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with regulations and all company safety policies and procedures using appropriate tools and protective equipment

• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• 2-3 years’ hot mix asphalt operation experience preferred but not required

• Experience in mechanical maintenance

• Experience in cutting torch/welding

• Process control knowledge

• Electrical knowledge – schematic reading

• Operate equipment in a safe and professional manner

• Operate and maintain equipment in a safe and clean condition

• Must feel comfortable working at high elevations

• Have the ability to follow through with efficiency on verbal and written instructions

• Have the ability to lift up to 70lbs

• Must be willing to submit to and pass a pre-employment, post-incident, random and reasonable suspicion drug screenings. Pallette Stone Corporation is a Drug Free Employer

Base salary range:

Asphalt Plant Operator

$41,600-$87,500

Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, overtime when applicable, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
