Job Duties: The Farm Laborer will perform various activities associated with growing/harvesting hay, straw, and other crops on our farm. The activities will be exclusively performed in an outdoor environment. Workers will tend to other harvests on the farm such as variety of produce such as sweet corn, summer squash, zucchini, eggplant, cucumbers, green beans, tomatoes, and a large variety of herbs, pumpkins, and grains by weeding, planting, harvesting, and trimming.

Workers will assist with livestock care by feeding and maintaining pen cleanliness of Turkeys. Turkeys are a seasonal poultry. Our turkeys arrive in May-June of the Spring/Summer season so they can complete their full cycle full 22-30 weeks of full maturity before being processed in mid-November. The production and processing of Turkeys is seasonal need due to demand for turkey throughout the fall season.

Workers will drive compact tractors, and use other machinery related to haying such as hay tedders, hay balers mowers, and hay rakes. Workers will assist with loading and transporting hay to customers. Routine maintenance and repairs are done at location of work, any maintenance/auto shop repair experience is a plus. Workers must maintain organization and cleanliness of farm. The farm is kept in order and is always systematized, workers must respect and contribute to keep the farm that way.

40 Hours/week: Hours vary based on weather. Workers must be physically able to lift up to 60 lbs. with assistance. Employer will furnish to workers, without cost, all tools and equipment required to perform duties assigned. Field temperatures range from 10 to 100 degrees (F) with possible wet morning conditions. Long hours on feet, bend, and stoop for long periods. Workers are expected to perform duties, including boxing, weighing, and loading of produce. Workers may assist in warehousing/palletizing and loading trucks/trailers with produce weighing from 50-60 lbs. and lifting to a height of 5 feet.

Assist with field preparation. Workers referred against this order must have a minimum of 3 months of verifiable experience in the aforementioned. Hours are: 8am to 4pm (Mon-Friday); 8am to 12 o'clock (Saturday) but vary due to weather and crop conditions. Depending on weather and conditions, longer hours may be worked in early, mid, and late summer. Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 months of prior experience.
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures.
  • Extensive pushing/ pulling, sitting/ walking.
  • Lifting requirement of 60 lbs with assistance.
  • Repetitive movements and frequent stooping/ bending over.
